Speedlink StrikeFX wireless gamepad
Everything was working perfectly fine, but then things went sideways. I fired up the NBA game yesterday and everything seemed totally fine at first, but suddenly my gamepad just stopped responding. My computer says it's connected, but absolutely none of the buttons are doing anything at all... I'm honestly at a loss here. 😕 Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me 🙂

Could the battery be dead?

I've got my gamepad plugged into the laptop via USB constantly... but the little light on the laptop is still glowing red...

Double-check if the receiver is actually seated properly—maybe try plugging it straight into one of those USB ports on the back of your PC instead.

I'm reading now that this controller uses a Lithium-ion battery,
so what is the USB cable even for? To charge it?

Forgive my questioning, but I've never owned a controller and don't plan to.
I tried one once and simply couldn't play. Nothing at all.

Beyond that, I'm not sure. Try it on another computer. If it fails there too, it's dead. If it works, is the issue your PC, Windows, or the USB?

Sorry if I sound clueless, but I've never actually owned a controller and probably won't;
I tried one once, and honestly, I just couldn't get into it at all. It was nothing to me.

I'm not sure what else to suggest, other than maybe trying it on a different computer. If it still doesn't work there, then I'd say it's 100% dead. But if it does work, then the issue might be with your PC, your Windows setup, or the USB port itself?

The USB is there to charge the battery if you're playing wirelessly. I've already tried connecting via Bluetooth using both the front and back ports, and I've tried the USB connection on the front and back too. I even tested it on my laptop, but the exact same thing happens... As for what I play, I mostly stick to sports games like the NBA or FIFA... and I can't really imagine playing something like the new Tomb Raider or Trine without kicking back on a sofa and playing on a TV.🙂 thanks for the help; if you happen to think of anything else that might be causing this, please let me know!🙂

Here are my thoughts: 🙂

- Have you tried resetting the controller?

- Is there a router nearby? It might be interfering; try turning it off for a bit.

- Bluetooth interference is possible. Disable it on both your phone and PC to test.

- Don't run your microwave 😁 while playing. It's bad for you; just toss it. 😁

- Have you tried resetting the controller?

- Is there a router sitting right next to you? That might be causing interference; try turning it off for a bit to see if things improve.

- Maybe Bluetooth is interfering... try disabling it on both your phone and computer just to test it out.

- Also, don't run your microwave while playing 😁—it's bad for you, honestly, just toss it. 😁

Haha, I don't even have a microwave at my place; it totally alters the chemical properties of food anyway. 🙂

I tried shutting down the router but nothing changed... how exactly am I supposed to reset the controller? Do you think I should try uninstalling and then reinstalling it or something?

👍 🙂

Shouldn't there be a small reset hole on the controller? Can't you just use a needle or something to reset it?
Are there no more instructions?

Isn't there supposed to be some kind of tiny little pinhole on the controller? Like, where you could stick a needle or something in to reset it?
Do you have any other tips?

Man, I honestly can't believe it... I've been scouring foreign forums, digging through endless websites, just Googling everything for about ten days straight now... and you're actually the first person who mentioned that reset trick, and now it's working perfectly. Seriously, kudos to you!

Glad to hear it. 🙂

You should have checked the manual immediately (don't toss anything; put everything in one drawer). It really ought to be clearly stated.

Best,
