I am currently utilizing a configuration consisting of two 2GB sticks of DDR2 800MHz RAM on an Intel motherboard, and I find myself contemplating the implications of upgrading to a 4GB and 2GB combination. I would be most interested to know how the system will actually behave under such a setup. Furthermore, does a discrepancy in the capacity of the individual memory modules present any significant technical complications or stability issues?

It really depends on the motherboard, luck, and whether those two sticks actually play nice together. I guess the only way to know for sure is to just try it.

Where are you even planning to find a 4GB DDR2 stick? They're pretty hard to come by and overpriced these days.

I suspect that’s actually just a 2GB module...

I have already placed my order, and the listing explicitly specifies a single unit of SanDisk 4 GB. I recall a previous instance where I ordered a specific capacity and ended up receiving two 2 GB sticks instead, but even then, the listing clearly stated "2x2 GB" and indicated a quantity of two units. In this case, a single 2 GB module is priced at $12.88.

We'll see when it actually shows up, I guess. The listing seems a little sketchy to me...

There is very little room for error here; I have personally placed over 50 orders through this platform, and on the one occasion where a minor issue arose, my money was returned to me without hesitation. It is only once I provide my explicit confirmation that everything is satisfactory that the seller actually receives their payment.

My new SanDisk 4 GB arrived, and I am pleased to report that it functions flawlessly when paired with my existing 2GB module. The computer is running without a single hitch; if only we didn't also happen to possess what is arguably the most sluggish and overpriced internet service in the entire USA and beyond.

+1 for better internet

Hopefully, all those complaints from tourists actually lead to something. Just two weeks ago, I got a letter from AT&T saying they’re going to speed up our connections by ten times without charging us a cent more.

I honestly have no clue if Accenture covers your area, but here in Washington, D.C., folks using them get 100mbps both ways—download and upload—plus phone and TV services for about $350-$133. Man, fiber optics really is a game changer, isn't it? If you can't get access to it, I guess you're stuck with AT&T 😁. I actually used them myself a few years back and was dealing with 4mbps speeds... seriously, what century were we living in?

I’m stuck in this spot where I can’t get more than 4 Mbps, which is just great div>

I guess things have picked up a bit now that DSL is available. You can grab those turbo options from AT&T, and I think Comcast has some decent DSL packages too...

Thanks for the link, those prices are dirt cheap 😉.

Thinking about beefing up my 775 socket rig. 40 bucks for 8GB of RAM, maybe 25 for a Quad processor...

I have personally purchased a vast array of items through them and I remain exceedingly satisfied with the experience; their pricing is significantly more competitive than what we typically see here in the States, making it well worth the wait of fifteen to thirty days. When you are placing your orders, I strongly suggest that you split your purchases into three separate transactions to ensure you avoid being hit with any unexpected sales tax.

How exactly do you think I’m gonna dodge sales tax on three separate orders?

By the way—how’s the quality on those memory sticks from China? Do they overheat, or do they actually have the capacity they claim to have?

I am quite uncertain regarding the exact capacity in kilobytes, though I can confirm the brand is Kingston. Furthermore, I find myself puzzled by your remarks concerning "those Chinese" products, as nearly all modern electronics we rely upon today originate from China—ranging from the very satellites facilitating our global communications down to the most rudimentary household appliances. Every single iPhone, or indeed any device where one pays a premium for a specific brand name, is manufactured in China. If my computer is providing accurate data, the memory capacity is precisely 2 or 4 GB as indicated on the label; while I haven't monitored the temperature, I can assert that everything is functioning perfectly smoothly. I did observe some minor discrepancies with a small HP USB drive that I purchased for $11.88. While the labeling claims 512 GB, my computer reports only 499 GB.http://www.aliexpress.com/item/NEW-1...235793426.htmlThe era in which "Made in China" served as a universal symbol for inferior quality has long since passed, and even then, such perceptions were largely driven by unscrupulous importers selling refuse at bottom-of-the-barrel prices.

Regarding the matter of Sales Tax:
What are the specific thresholds below which one is exempt from customs duties and sales tax on goods ordered online?

Shipments of negligible value up to $25, as well as non-commercial shipments up to $50 sent from one individual to another, are exempt from both customs duties and sales tax.

Shipments of negligible value up to $150 per package—excluding items such as alcohol, perfumes, colognes, tobacco, and tobacco products—are imported free of customs duties. However, for any such shipment with a value exceeding the $25 threshold, sales tax will be assessed.
For goods valued over $25, the question arises whether sales tax is applied to the difference between $25 and $150, or to the entire total value of the shipment.

For instance: if goods are purchased online with a value of, say, $83, they would be exempt from customs duties (since the total value remains under the $150 threshold), but sales tax would be levied on the full amount of $83 because the total value exceeds the $25 limit.

I get the whole sales tax and customs thing, but you suggested I split it into three separate orders just to dodge the tax bill.

Found this new 8GB DDR3 stick, says $150.

Once you factor in the tax and duties, it’s barely worth the hassle.
