$59 It’s actually pricier than the 4GB reference models we used to see

One guy snagged the 8GB version through his company for $762 from Best Buy

That's just the MSRP including tax, before any markup. At the end of the day, it all comes down to whatever discount the retailer gets from the manufacturer and what kind of margin they decide to slap on the product.

Prices for the GTX 1050 have dropped by about $33

I see a bunch of GPUs listed Downtown and at Comcast, with prices looking better by the day.

EVGA GTX 1050 Ti 4GB - $362
EVGA GTX 1060 4GB - $593
ASUS RX 580 8GB - $800

That GTX 1060 is probably the reference model, looks like the Platinum edition from those PC Gamer reviews.

They might be available starting this Tuesday, I guess.

Has anyone actually released a GTX 1050 without needing a power connector?

They exist, though I'm not entirely sure if they're still available for purchase right now.

@crimsonstag84/">@@crimsonstag84.

Is it even feasible to run Forza Motorsport or iRacing on this specific setup?

Core i5-2500K
4GB DDR2
DDR3 GTX 250

Assuming I stick to a 720p resolution, what kind of performance should I expect?

You might be able to get Forza Motorsport running at 720p on medium-high settings (assuming you turn off HDR, AA, and shadows/reflections), but multiplayer is going to absolutely murder your CPU 😁—I’d say it'll probably peg it at 100% once you have more than 10 drivers on track.

iRacing should run just fine at 1080p on Medium. I don't personally own the game, but based on what other people I know are saying, it isn't quite that demanding.

Looks solid. Just keep in mind that the MSI model is the premium version, plus you can snag an extra 3% discount if you buy through PC Connection.

Quick update on the new GPUs - Center : EVGA GTX 1060:

EVGA GTX 1060 4GB reference model - $566
MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X 8GB - $688
MSI GTX 1060 6 GB Armor - $814

Not bad, I guess 🙂

What's the move? You think a GTX 1060 (8GB), maybe a Sapphire version or one of those custom models, will drop to $22 or lower in three or four months?

It might happen in three or four months. Right now, they have the MSI Gaming 8GB listed downtown, but it’s currently out of stock—and even then, it’s priced at $830, which is basically the top-of-the-line model anyway.

Getting these $566 for a reference GTX 1060 is actually a pretty solid deal.

I suspect prices for the budget options will look something like this by the end of the year:

GTX 1060 4GB - $533 reference, $583 custom
GTX 1060 8GB - $633(custom)
GTX 1060 4GB - $700(custom)
GTX 1060 8GB - $767(custom)

GTX 1060 6GB - $783
GTX 1060 3GB - $650

Though, I suppose that might be a tad pessimistic for some people.

I’m looking at about $67 difference between the GTX 1060 6GB and the GTX 1060 8GB (from the same manufacturer) because that’s a tangible gap, and that's how things look on the market right now (for example, a Strix GTX 1060 versus a Strix GTX 1060)

In my opinion, manufacturing the GTX 1060 actually costs more than producing the GTX 480. You have significantly more hardware involved—more VRAM, a wider bus, better die architecture, and higher specs—plus you're dealing with that 14nm process...

By the way, they just hit the shelves. You can find the 3GB version of the 1060 in stock now, ranging from $219 up to $767 currently.

Intel has always operated on thinner margins. An ASUS RX 580 can't be priced the same as a GTX 1060; it has to be cheaper, otherwise, they won't move any significant volume at all.

Hey guys, isn't the GTX 1060 just a tiny bit of an upgrade over the GTX 970?

It's not a "tiny bit." It's significantly better.😁

Just got an email from Future stating they finally have those 1050 Ti cards in stock. I'm wondering, would one of those 4GB models be a good fit for this build?

Intel Core i3-4130
LC-CC-95 cooler
ASUS B450 Motherboard with Corsair RAM and Radeon GPU
2x4 GB RAM Kingston Hyper X 1600 Mhz
Radeon R7 250 1GB DDR5
500 GB HDD + 120 GB SSD
Chieftec GPS 450 AA

It’d fit fine,

but there's cheaper stuff over at Downtown
