Fans might have significantly more runtime than gaming rigs, but there's absolutely no way to tell just by looking at them. The only real giveaway is if a vendor happens to be offloading a massive surplus of models specifically popular with crypto miners 😁

A buddy of mine—who's pretty plugged into testing data—mentioned he didn't see much of a difference, but suggested it might be wise to apply some fresh thermal paste anyway. 🤷

Which models are actually popular?
Man, my GTX 1060 6GB just bit the dust yesterday... it still had two years left on the warranty from Best Buy. 🤦

Everything from the RX 470/570 and the GTX 1060 up to the higher-end models...

But seriously, what's the going rate for a GTX 1060 (is it the 3GB or 6GB version?) these days? I noticed that brand new RX 570/580 cards are hitting some really great price points lately.

Has anyone ever dealt with this shop before? It's an RX 580 8 GB Sapphire Nitro plus a brand new graphics card—some kind of Easter promo deal.

But how much is that GTX 1060 actually going for (the 3GB or 6GB version)? I noticed some new RX 570/580 cards are at really great prices right now.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the heads-up.

So, just to give you an idea, I snagged a 6GB GTX 1060 yesterday for $333 with a full 2-year warranty. Honestly, it’s probably the best deal on a 6GB 1060 I’ve come across; I saw something similar for $367 before, but that only had about a year of coverage. As for the 3GB models, they usually hover around $15, maybe even $12 if you're lucky, while the 6GB versions seem to range anywhere from $17 to $30 depending on where you look.
I mean, if I stumble upon a deal this good that actually comes with a standard retailer warranty, I'm grabbing it immediately. Even if the thing dies the very next day, I've got the warranty to fall back on for a replacement.

What do you mean "shop"? It doesn't even look like a business; it just looks like a standard user profile named Kris10...

By the way, those Sapphire cards should come with a 3-year warranty...

So, I stumbled upon an ad for a graphics card from some company. I didn't even realize they were a business; they claim to provide a receipt and a warranty, which sounds okay, I suppose. I decided to reach out just to make sure it wasn't something bought at H&M and to see if testing was an option. The guy told me they’re actually an outfit that specializes in importing refurbished IT gear—everything is fully tested and comes with an 18-month warranty. 🤷

Anyone have any smart takes on this?

The company is click

I'm not entirely sure how the warranty process works if it isn't handled directly by them—say, if it falls under a different region's jurisdiction—but it might be worth checking if they can facilitate it...

Should I go with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX gaming or the Alienware (not the XT version), both with 8 GB of VRAM, when there is only a $9 difference? It isn't even really for gaming, but rather for compute tasks and DirectX.

I have no clue how a warranty claim would work if it isn't through them directly—like if it's tied to a different state—but maybe you can still run it through them...

We're looking at a company with a base capital of $3.25 that pulled in $2167 back in 2017... they haven't released any numbers for 2018 yet. ☕

Look, just because a company is officially registered on paper doesn't mean their actual business performance is anything more than a total joke. 😬

Go with the Alienware for sure. Their standard "gaming" coolers are pretty mediocre—honestly, they're some of the worst aftermarket cooling solutions out there.

Look, a company might look great on paper, but how "successful" they actually are in the real world is a completely different story. 😬

And don't even get me started on the prices. I'm looking at that Dell mini tower, and I remember grabbing one just like it from Badurini last year for only $227. These guys are asking almost double!

A buddy and I had the same suspicion, but I figured we might as well see if any other tech experts here have an opinion. 😁

hm... I'm trying to make sense of this situation. There’s one guy from the listing who said I could actually test the card if I wanted to, but everyone else just has the GPU sitting there without a case. It seems a bit odd—they all used these cards, and now, suddenly, nobody has a working PC left 🤷

I’m not messing around with that. They should just pull out the card they're using now, install the drivers for the one they’re actually selling, and then let you do your thing on the PC. Honestly, I wouldn't even want to deal with that headache myself.
