Dear colleagues, as the title suggests, I am in the market for a new monitor.
My trusty 17" Samsung has been serving me well since 2006, but it is likely time for its retirement. 🙂

Regarding my requirements, the primary use will be digital illustration, along with some occasional gaming and movies. Nothing too demanding... 😵
As mentioned, I would prefer to stay under $400. I have spotted a few models at that price point that all seem remarkably similar. Out of habit and past experience, I find myself leaning toward Samsung, though there is an IBM option available at AMD.

To summarize, I am looking for a budget-friendly, slightly larger, standard, and reasonably reliable monitor that will last me the next couple of years.
I plan to pay in cash, and since I live quite far from Washington, D.C., I will likely order it for delivery.
Alternatively, I could just pick it up this Saturday while I happen to be passing through Washington, D.C.

I would appreciate any recommendations you might have; if you need further details, please feel free to ask.
Thanks, everyone! 👍

Even if it’s sitting about a hundred bucks higher than what was originally listed $400, I'd still say go for the Dell UltraSharp.

The few extra bucks aren't really the issue; I’d just much prefer having a 24" screen instead of a 22".
Size does matter in this case... 😉

The purchase went smoothly—I eventually settled on a 24-inch IBM monitor. 🙂

I brought it home, got everything set up, and mounted it. So far, I’m quite pleased. For the price, it handles my digital illustration work without any issues.
Naturally, the jump from my old 17-inch model from 2006 is massive, so it will take some getting used to...

Anyway, this thread can be LOCKED. 😉
