Honestly, it feels like Reddit has turned into some kind of proletarian dictatorship lately, doesn't it? Like, if you aren't spoon-feeding the mods exactly what they want to hear, you just get wiped out without a second thought...
Just to clear things up and expand on what I was saying—when it comes to the whole topic of gay love and marriage, I made sure to lay out my actual perspective clearly, without ever trying to put anyone down or be disrespectful:
After that, I ended up getting this incredibly articulate and pointed response from one of the guys over on Reddit. 🙄
I actually wrote out a full response to this post, but it got nuked by the mods within just a few minutes. I was trying to be specific, really diving into how even in major modern cultures, incest has been legally recognized at various points, and honestly, if you look at the history of literature, it’s absolutely overflowing with stories about the love between blood relatives... I might have poked a little fun at the guy who started the thread—nothing too out of line, mind you—by pointing out how he loves to dress up his insults in these overly complex, multi-word sentences to make them look like logical arguments.
So, like I was saying just a few minutes ago, my entire response got wiped out. I actually ended up sending a private message to Matthew Anderson, since he’s been all over this thread anyway, just to see what was going on. Here is exactly what I asked him:
I didn't get a response, but then the next day Matthew Anderson posted on the thread:
I'm getting pretty annoyed at this point, so I went ahead and posted a response to the thread:
Man, I can't believe they nuked my post within five seconds flat. Like, seriously? And then, to top it all off, I get hit with a private message just a few hours later after they already wiped it from existence. 🙄 So, is it actually against the rules to comment on moderator warnings now? I mean, especially when it’s coming from some moderator who hasn't even looked at the posts or followed the actual thread? It feels a bit much, doesn't it? 🙄.
I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on whether this is actually legit? FORUMSo, I’ve been sitting here wondering... do we actually tolerate different perspectives around here, or is this just one big echo chamber where everyone has to think exactly the same way? I'm genuinely asking because I want to know how things are run in this community, you know? If I've actually messed up or if I've somehow offended someone, then please, just tell me specifically what my mistake was or where I went wrong. But can we please skip the nonsense like telling me I'm "not allowed to comment on a moderator's warning"? Because honestly, that kind of thing only showed up at the very end of the thread, and it felt pretty unnecessary.
Thanks so much!

Christian Watson2 said:Do gay people actually feel love? I mean, obviously they do. At the end of the day, people are just people, right? We all experience the same emotions, and honestly, who has any right to sit there and try to define or dictate what love is supposed to look like for someone else?
What do I actually think about their orientation being considered "normal"? Honestly, that’s not even the point of this discussion...
Let’s be real for a second—nobody can actually pin down a single definition of what love is, so how on earth are we supposed to decide who is allowed to love whom? It feels like a bit of a slippery slope, doesn't it? I've always looked at marriage as this specific union between a man and a woman, and while I truly believe that gay couples deserve the exact same right to have a committed partnership as anyone else, I just don't think we should call it marriage or use it as a direct substitute. If we start blurring those lines, aren't we basically opening the floodgates for polygamy to demand the same status tomorrow? I mean, imagine a situation with two women and one man, or even more people who all genuinely care for one another—who are we to step in and tell them their feelings aren't valid? Why couldn't they form a legal union together, maybe even raise children or adopt? And if we really want to push this logic to its limit, what about cases where siblings or close relatives fall in love? If they're both consenting adults making a choice based on their own will, who are we to play judge and say, "No, you don't actually love each other"? There are so many different scenarios like this that make you wonder where the line is even supposed to be drawn.
After that, I ended up getting this incredibly articulate and pointed response from one of the guys over on Reddit. 🙄
I honestly don't know how people can just sit there and act like everything is perfectly fine when we all know things are shifting right under our feet, you know? It feels like every time I log onto Reddit to see what everyone is thinking about the current state of things, I’m just met with this endless cycle of noise that doesn't actually solve anything. Does anyone else feel like we're just spinning our wheels while the actual important issues get pushed to the side by people who are more interested in looking right than being right? I've been sitting here reflecting on it all morning, wondering if we're even capable of having a real conversation anymore without someone jumping in to derail the whole vibe. It’s exhausting, really, trying to find some semblance of truth in a sea of opinions that feel increasingly disconnected from reality. Is it just me, or is the whole landscape starting to feel a little bit broken? kaže:
Honestly, trying to draw any kind of parallel between incest and homosexuality is just... I mean, where do you even start? It’s completely absurd, isn't it? Honestly, this is just plain stupid, isn't it?. 🙄

Christian Watson2 said:Can someone please explain to me why my post got nuked when I was being perfectly civil, especially when there’s this other user calling me an idiot whose post is still sitting there untouched without even a single warning? We were just discussing same-sex marriage, so I don't get what the issue is. Thanks!
I didn't get a response, but then the next day Matthew Anderson posted on the thread:
Matthew Anderson said:Hey everyone, can we please just dial back the constant comparisons to pedophilia and incest? It’s honestly not even the topic at hand, and bringing that kind of heavy stuff into the conversation doesn't really help anyone, does it? Let's just keep things on track. Thanks.
I'm getting pretty annoyed at this point, so I went ahead and posted a response to the thread:
Christian Watson2 said:Can someone please explain to me why people get so defensive when you try to draw a parallel between homosexuality and incest? Like, seriously, why is that comparison such a massive taboo? And honestly, do you guys actually think people involved in incestuous relationships are mentally ill? If we’re talking about two consenting, mature adults who happen to be related, are you really telling me they aren't capable of loving one another, or are we just sticking to the "they're sick" label because it's easier? It’s wild to me because if you look at world literature, these kinds of relationships have been explored countless times, not to mention there are certain major cultures throughout history where this was perfectly legal. Also, when you go out of your way to tell us not to compare homosexuality to incest or pedophilia, are you basically implying that incest and pedophilia are the exact same thing? Are you actually suggesting that a relationship between two conscious, responsible adults is somehow on the same level as the abuse found in pedophilic situations? Because that's a pretty heavy implication to make. I'm half-expecting that since there aren't any real answers here, you'll just end up banning my post and handing me a yellow card, while the user above—who’s busy calling everyone else an idiot—gets a free pass without even a slap on the wrist?
