Reddit is down again

Wait, what happened? What kind of glitch is this? Reddit was basically dark for almost 24 hours. Is this officially the longest system meltdown ever?

Cornerstone really should have just stayed offline for a full 24 hours

I don't think I've ever hit refresh on the same page quite this many times in a single 24-hour window.🙂

It’s back up now. Apparently, there was an issue with MyDataKnox's hosting (is that where the site is hosted?) due to some hardware failure yesterday. It's pretty weird that it hit the forum so hard, though, considering they supposedly had everything else back online within a few hours.

To whom it may concern,

While performing scheduled maintenance on one of our data center's power feeds, an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) failed. This caused a portion of our network equipment to lose power, leading to service disruptions and making certain tools difficult or impossible to access.

I heard that too. Though, mind you, some people were reporting that their own sites were working just fine.

Honestly, the people over on the religion subreddit kinda freak me out—I just hope nobody's out there having a literal heart attack because they realized their whole life could just vanish in a heartbeat.

Honestly, I doubt anyone else even noticed besides the unknown party.
When you don't have God in your life, I guess all sorts of random habits just try to fill that void.
So, maybe—if you don't mind me saying—it feels like you're actually talking about your own fears here.
P.S. There are two Catholic subreddits I'm part of, and they’ve been around forever... they haven't vanished yet.

It’s all server dependent and depends on the service, really. Not everything went dark at once—some stuff stayed up until the evening, other parts didn't kick back in until morning...

Their pages were actually running okay, except for the admin panel login, which was totally down for a while.

I’ve been popping pills all day. Honestly, the last time I was this stressed out was when they canceled that one classic rock reissue I’d been waiting thirty years for.

Just when everyone got slapped with a one-day ban, I finally knocked out all those chores I've been putting off...

I’ve tried refreshing the page about fifteen times now, and even after clearing my browser history and cache, I can't quite tell if the issue lies with my own connection or the forum itself; I was simply trying to track down Amazon's Twitter feed to see what the latest updates are. 😁

I actually skipped work because I was too stressed out and spiraling over what’s going on with this forum...
