My nose is still totally blocked, so I'm basically breathing through my mouth constantly. I honestly can't tell if this is just part of the process or if something is wrong!!!

I used to get constant headaches all the time before my surgery, but since the procedure, they've completely vanished—though the congestion was definitely an issue for me.

Maya, I don't have a headache per se, but there's this weird pressure right above my nose and along my cheekbones. Breathing feels fine though—actually better than before.
Honestly, I think the pressure is just coming from the swelling that hasn't fully gone down yet; I probably only feel it when I move my face around.
I also get dizzy if I accidentally touch the spot near my ear where all the congestion seems to be lingering.

Has anyone else noticed their sense of taste shifting lately?

I honestly think this pressure is just from the lingering swelling... like, when I move my face at all, I can definitely feel it sitting there.
And man, if I accidentally touch that spot near my ear with a Q-tip, I get hit with these dizzy spells. It's wild.

Yeah, maybe "pressure" is the better word to use... I think for me, it’s coming from that stuffed-up feeling...
But it's already been "only" a month... at first, I didn't even feel it like this...
It's almost like over the last week or two, this pressure has started feeling way more intense...
(Could it be because of this heatwave? Like, does the heat make us swell up more?)

The swelling has gone down a bit more than it was before, but honestly, it’s still pretty noticeable. And you’re totally right about this heat—it’s doing zero favors. I’m seriously debating whether it's worth turning on the AC just yet. 😢

My nose is constantly blocked. I’m basically breathing through my mouth 24/7 and I have zero clue if this is even normal!!!

I started getting them right after my surgery and they haven't stopped for a year and a half. The intensity just fluctuates. Sometimes it gets so intense I honestly wish I could just rip my head off. And don't even get me started on running—I used to be such a runner, but now I'm physically limited. It's been a nightmare. Seriously, watch who you trust with your face. If you can avoid the surgery altogether, just do it.

if you play it smart:

1. making sure the filters were recently cleaned, sanitized (which you gotta do every season, but right now it's extra critical)

and

2. keeping the AC on a low setting—like, the lowest fan speed possible—making sure it's pointed away so it's definitely not blowing directly on your face, and setting the thermostat so there isn't a massive jump between the indoor temp and what's going on outside,

then being in a more comfortable temperature/humidity level is definitely better for healing.

Sometimes the pain is so blindingly intense I feel like I could rip my own head off just to make it stop. And don't even get me started on my running routine... I used to be so active, but now I'm just physically sidelined. It's devastating. Seriously, please watch who you trust with your health—if there's any way to avoid the surgery altogether, just do it.

But did you ever get your sinuses checked out?
I mean, how's your breathing been since the procedure? Is the headache intensity tied to how congested you're feeling?

It’s definitely possible, but honestly, if your nasal passages and sinuses are all inflamed, your sense of smell just isn't going to function the way it should.

@rowdyfalcon35/">@@rowdyfalcon35, @restlesspanther42—wait, who exactly did you guys go to for your surgery? I’ve been lurking on this thread every single day for two years now, and this is the first time I’m actually hearing about these headaches. It’s pretty obvious it isn't just the two of you dealing with this—it seems to be popping up way more often than I thought :/ and honestly, talk about bad timing, because I was just about to pull the trigger on my own surgery 😢

I can't help but notice that this place seems to attract people who are perpetually unhappy, almost for no reason at all—it’s as if they just haven't quite figured out how to deal with their own issues yet.

If you were taking a shot at me, I honestly have no clue what you were trying to get at. 😕

Look, on any forum like this, you're way more likely to run into people who aren't happy with their procedure (or whatever else went sideways; basically, they've got an issue).

Most of the folks who had a smooth experience don't feel the need to hop online and brag about it—it's just basic math and psychology...

@Donna Johnson16/">@@Donna Johnson16 thanks.
Regarding my experience, I’m actually pretty happy with the results. I only brought up a revision as a possibility because the tip isn't quite where I want it yet—though it is slightly lifted, so I might not even need to go back under.
There are plenty of us who are satisfied but just like checking in to make sure our recovery process is following the standard playbook. 🙂

@Donna Johnson16/">@@Donna Johnson16, I get what you're saying, but honestly—I’ve been lurking in these threads for ages and I have never once heard anyone mention these specific sinus pressures or headaches before
I mean, I’ve read plenty about various lumps, constant swelling, and all sorts of other issues, but this is the first time I’m hearing about people dealing with migraines that don't even kick in until eighteen months after the surgery

The thing is, most people who come here to share their stories—whether they’re venting or celebrating—usually do it right away, like a few days or weeks post-op. It’s pretty rare for someone to circle back after a year or two, or even three, just to give an update on how things are actually holding up... which is such a shame, really. I’m genuinely curious to know how all these "new noses" are actually doing in the long run and what kind of lingering side effects might pop up down the road

Has anyone here actually dealt with Dr. Branko Glusc over in Santa Barbara? Looking for some real feedback.

Unfortunately, Donna Johnson16, I came up totally empty handed.
Could you give me a little hand here?
Thanks in advance!

Look right above your post—you'll see "Search this thread" sitting there between 'Thread Tools' and 'Rate Thread.'

If you just type in 'silencer' in there, you’re gonna get hit with like ten pages of posts (way too many for me to go through and link everything that might actually matter to you 🤷 so, honestly... you're probably better off doing the digging yourself)
