Has anyone here ever had surgery performed by Dr. Jurlina over at Rebro?

Yeah, I have.🙂
You really can't go wrong with that choice; you'll be in excellent hands 👍

I have a question
Has anyone else noticed their tip
start to drop after a little while? It’s currently day 16 since my surgery, and honestly, I’m starting to look a bit like Miss Piggy. My nose is still quite swollen and it’s pointing upward significantly, which feels very strange because I was used to having a much more drooping tip. Everything else seems fine, though—the hump is gone and my breathing feels relatively good.

I'm starting to wrap up all the necessary research. I'm slowly counting down the days until the surgery—hoping everything stays on track despite this strike...

Just checking in. It’s been nearly six weeks since my surgery, and I’m still dealing with some swelling—though honestly, it feels like I'm the only one noticing it. It mostly happens in the mornings; by the afternoon, my nose starts to settle into its final shape, and that’s when I feel truly happy with the results. Both my profile and my front view look much more feminine and soft now. My only real regret is that I didn't find the courage to do this ten years ago instead of dragging around that dissatisfaction for all those years...

Did they lower the tip? It’s day 16 post-op for me, and I’m starting to look a bit like Miss Piggy. My nose is still swollen, and the tip points upward quite a bit—which is a total adjustment since I used to have such a drooping tip. Everything else seems fine, though. The hump is gone, and breathing is relatively decent.

Where did you all go for your surgeries?

For those of you who had surgery over a year ago—how does your nose look these days?

Mine actually seems to be getting bigger instead of shrinking down :/ it’s kind of worrying me, though I guess maybe it just needs more time to settle...

What do you mean by "grown"? How can you tell?
If that were the case, I'd end up with a bigger nose than what I started with after this whole ordeal...

Hey everyone,

I’m looking to connect with anyone else who had surgery with Dr. Toncic and ended up totally unhappy with the results...
I had my nose done about three years ago by Rajko.
Honestly, I can barely see any change in volume or shape, except that instead of one bump on my profile, I now have two—one tiny bump where the old one was, then a dip, then some cartilage sitting way too high on the bridge, plus the tip just drooped toward my lip in this weird arc. It looked like that right after they took the cast off, and it hasn't budged since.
Look, it’s not like my nose is a total disaster or anything, but every once in a while, when I’ve got nothing better to do... 🙂 I just get so angry. I feel cheated because I went through all that hassle and paid all that money for a result that's barely even better. From the front it looks okay, but the profile is worse—it actually looks ridiculous, and the volume is basically the same.
I went back to him for a consultation, but he’s such a smooth talker that I ended up feeling embarrassed just for bringing up how unhappy I was. 🙂
Is there anyone else out there feeling the same way?

Look, neither my old nose nor the new one is a total disaster, but every once in a while—usually when I don't have anything better to do🙂—I just get hit with this wave of anger and the feeling that I got ripped off. It sucks because I went through all that hassle and paid good money for a result that's barely any better (it looks okay from the front, but the profile is worse—actually, it's kind of ridiculous, and the volume is basically the same).
I went back to him for a consultation, but he’s such a smooth talker and manipulator that I ended up feeling embarrassed even bringing up my dissatisfaction. 🙂
Is there anyone else out there who's disappointed?

Hey!
Well, I'll jump in... I also went to Toncic back in '97 to fix a little bump... and my results are identical to yours. The bump is smaller, sure, but now there's extra cartilage at the bridge, a lump in the middle, and after a few years, the tip dropped by a solid 5mm... it's like it was "cut" right where Toncic added the extra stuff to the bump. I actually just saw Glumičić three weeks ago for a revision, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome.

If I could just manage to end up with something bigger than what I have now after the surgery... I guess that would be the dream.

It’s looking kind of potato-shaped right now... it hasn't really settled down yet, even though it's been about 5 or 6 months :/

Just wondering if I'm the only one here... I haven't seen anyone else posting about bad experiences after surgery with him (specifically talking about Rajko)

And there is zero chance I'm going back for a revision. I just can't deal with the whole ordeal again, plus I don't have the time to babysit this... My mucous membrane was damaged for a whole year, and the capillaries on my nose burst too, not to mention the swelling :-)
Even though he mentioned that if the tip gets too droopy in a few years :-) he could graft some cartilage to hold it up, but that won't fix anything when the whole thing is already way too long and wavy
The only upside is that my nose looks totally natural ;P and I finally bought some really extravagant glasses

Oh awesome, I finally stumbled upon the right thread on the forum! 🙂

I’m really curious about how things have been changing with healthcare lately... So, I’ve got a deviated septum, and since I'm still a student, I'm relying on my supplemental insurance and all that. Some people tell me everything is covered for free, while others swear you have to pay out of pocket for everything. I would be so incredibly grateful if someone who actually knows the ropes could give me the real scoop. Also, a friend of mine mentioned that her doctor actually tweaked the shape of her nose during her septum surgery, and she didn't end up paying a dime extra for it. It would be absolutely amazing if I could get that hump fixed too—you know, the one I earned from slamming my face into a pole back in the day. I just want it straightened out because, honestly, it's leaning a bit crooked. But yeah, being a student means my bank account is pretty much non-existent right now. 😁
I mean, I could totally wait a few years to deal with the cosmetic side of things, but I’d much rather just get it all handled at once so I don't have to go through the pain of nose surgery twice for no reason.

So, yeah, kind souls of Washington, D.C., please help a girl out! 😁

I'm scheduled for septoplasty in January. While they're at it, they’re going to straighten my nose out since the bridge is shifted left and the tip pulls to the right.
And just so we're clear, I have supplemental insurance, so this won't cost me a dime.

I’m scheduled for surgery to fix a deviated septum on November 13th—assuming this strike doesn't push things back. I managed to bundle in a rhinoplasty correction too. Since I have supplemental insurance, I won't be paying a dime...

Don't sweat it, you're definitely not alone... I know plenty of girls that Toncic (the older one) "fixed up" quite nicely. For years, I told myself I’d never go in for a revision (especially since the guy doing them under local anesthesia is an absolute idiot), but since things just kept getting worse every single year and ended up causing chronic sinus inflammation, I finally decided to get it fixed properly. General anesthesia this time, packing stayed in for only two days, the mold was out by day five, and none of that bruising, swelling, or peeling skin crap I dealt with the first time... no ear cartilage grafting to prop the nose up either (which was one of Toncic's suggestions during a check-up) etc... I am beyond happy and completely satisfied now that I'm on day 25 post-op.🙂

Man, once I start reading their ads everywhere... "The nose is a permanent facial feature... precision, accuracy, every millimeter counts..." ...it's just too much.🤷

I could wait a few years to deal with the cosmetic side of things, but I'd much rather just handle it all at once so I don't have to undergo two separate procedures for the same nose.

So, kind citizens of Washington, D.C., please help a girl out. 😁

Your best bet is to find a hospital with a surgeon you can actually trust—someone who will address the functional issues of the deviated septum while also fixing the structural damage from hitting that pole, since that likely messed with your septum's alignment anyway. If they fix the function, the aesthetics usually fall under the same umbrella, and you won't be hit with extra fees; you just need to hash that out with your surgeon beforehand.

Whatever you do, stay away from private clinics if you aren't looking to gamble with your health, your life, or your bank account. I haven't followed this thread in a while because I had my own surgery a few years back (on the Rebro), but peering back in now, it’s still shocking to see how many people are willing to recklessly risk their lives on cosmetic procedures at random private practices. Many of these places don't even have proper anesthesiologists on hand, and they perform horrific, amateur surgeries that result in catastrophic outcomes for both looks and breathing, all while bleeding you dry.

I'm sorry you didn't get the results you wanted... but what's wrong with local anesthesia? It's safer and puts less strain on the body. General anesthesia is no joke; the body "remembers" every time you go under. My experience with local was great—didn't feel a thing.
