fadedfalcon13 said:Look, just because someone is an ENT doesn't mean they’ve suddenly mastered the art of nose surgery, whether we're talking about a quick fix or some heavy-duty reconstruction. There's a massive difference between having the title and actually having the hands for it. Don't get me wrong, your average ENT is going to know way more than some random surgeon since they spent their entire residency grinding on this specific craft, but that’s not saying they’re wizards. If you're looking at the options, you'd be a fool not to put yourself in the hands of a true specialist. You want the person who lives and breathes this stuff, not just someone who happens to have the credentials.

Hey Chris Moore3, you really want me to go there? Fine, if you insist. Honestly, talking about my first surgery still feels a little surreal, like I’m recounting some weird fever dream. Before that big one, though? Not really. I’d never actually been under the knife before. I mean, I’ve had my fair share of scrapes and bruised egos, but nothing involving a scalpel and heavy-duty anesthesia. It was all pretty new territory for me—just sitting there wondering how much of this was going to be awkward.
So, if you were going to do it, who would you even trust? Just because Zambelli fixed that breathing issue of yours—you know, that whole deviated septum situation—doesn't mean some other veteran ENT couldn't have sorted it out if you’d actually given them a shot. But me? If I were looking at getting surgery just to fix my nose, there is absolutely no way in hell I'm going under the knife for someone who built their entire career on silicone injections and liposuction. Not happening. 🙄 Honestly? I feel like I’d need some rock-solid guarantees and actual references before I even thought about booking that surgeon. Just feels a bit too risky without some proof.

So, about Dr. Zam. All we really know is that he was the one who supposedly messed with Severina’s smile and the tip of her nose, but honestly, nobody’s actually seen any follow-up photos of that nose. I just know—since I keep tabs on our pop scene—that the story didn't end there. She went under the knife again after him for other procedures, including more nose work. Using Severina as some kind of gold standard or reference point? Yeah, that's pretty hilarious.

Look, if nobody has managed to hammer it into your head yet—and I mean really drill it in—that when your tooth starts throbbing, you go see a dentist and not some random gynecologist or an eye doctor... then we have a serious problem. It’s the exact same deal with your nose. Seriously. I'm done. Not looking to get into a whole debate about this, though. End of story. 🤦 Look, you gotta make the call yourself. When you're about to go under the knife and you're dropping a cool two or two and a half grand on the table, you need to decide exactly which surgeon you're trusting with your life. It's your money and your skin, so just pick someone you actually trust.

I totally agree with you—your first move should absolutely be seeing an ENT specialist. Seriously, if you’re dealing with breathing issues on top of everything else, it’s not just a good idea, it’s mandatory. And honestly? Don't stop at just one doctor. Go see two or three if you feel like the first one is leaving you hanging. We all know how it goes—these doctors are slammed, and sometimes it feels like they’re just rushing you out the door as fast as possible. The consultations end up being super short and pretty much useless when it comes to actually getting the answers you need. I’ve been there myself. I went through multiple specialists before finally picking my surgeon. He was the only one who actually made sense. He laid everything out clearly: what the problems were, how we’d fix them, exactly what I needed to do before and after the surgery, and what the whole recovery process would look like. I got the full rundown, both verbally and in writing! No vague, annoying "maybe we could do this" or "let's just leave that alone for now and see how things go..." nonsense. I dealt with plenty of "specialists" who gave me those exact kinds of non-answers. To be honest, because they were so indecisive and couldn't give me a straight answer, I ended up refusing to have my other surgery with an ENT altogether.

Look, I’m not saying they aren't capable of doing a good job or whatever, but once you've been burned, you're naturally going to be super wary. It's just how it works. When you finally make the call to go in for a revision, the last thing you need is some surgeon who just leaves you hanging. You need someone who actually instills confidence and gives you straight answers about what to expect. I don't want some guy giving me "preparations" for a third surgery when he hasn't even successfully pulled off the second one. At that point, it feels less like a consultation and more like I'm just sitting there talking about fixing his previous mess.

Look, when it comes to Dr. Zambelli—who he’s been operating on, whether it was Severina or whoever else, and exactly whose bank account is paying the bills—that honestly isn't my business. I don't care enough to get swept up in all that drama. But I will say this: I’ve never once seen his name splashed across the headlines. Unlike those other celebrity surgeons who practically live in the tabloids, he’s always stayed pretty much under the radar.
Look, he did an amazing job for me, period. And honestly? I’ve been sharing that as my own firsthand experience with people who actually care about the results—not as some ammo for you to use for nitpicking or starting pointless back-and-forth arguments. That’s not what this forum is for. So, if you’ve got some major beef with Dr. Zambelli regarding who his former clients were or whether he charged them or not, go ahead and start a whole new thread for that. Leave this one alone.

Look, this is basically where we all hang out to talk about nose jobs—real stories from people who’ve actually gone through it, their personal experiences, and what the end result actually looks like!!!!!

Hey there, everyone. I’ve been lurking in this thread for a bit, just soaking it all in, but I figured I should finally jump in and ask for
a little bit of guidance. Writing to you guys from Bihać, Canada.
So, here's the deal: I've been dealing with these constant, nagging throat infections, and after seeing
an ENT specialist, she told me the whole mess stems from a deviated septum.
I actually broke my nose back when I was a kid, and ever since then, I've basically been breathing through my mouth.
Does anyone have any recommendations on where I should head in the States to get surgery done?
I’m also thinking about doing a little bit of aesthetic work to tweak the look of my nose, though honestly, that's not even my main priority;
the big thing for me is just getting the functionality sorted so I can finally breathe through my nose properly.
Has anyone here had any experience working with Dr. Ivica Klapan or Dr. Ranko Mladin?
I’ve stumbled upon quite a few glowing reviews for them online.
To be honest, I don't really care which clinic I end up at because I'll be paying out of pocket anyway, so whether it's a high-end private practice
or a major hospital system doesn't matter much to me. My biggest goal is just to get it done right the first time
so I don't have to go through this whole ordeal again. Thanks so much in advance for any advice you can throw my way.

I’m not entirely sure where Dr. Mladin sees his private patients, but I do know that Klapan Def has a private practice.

Anyone have advice on where to go for surgery in the States?
I'd also like some minor aesthetic work done, though that isn't the main

Honestly, it doesn't matter which one I choose; I'll be paying regardless, whether it's
a private clinic or a public hospital. I just want to do this once and do it right
so I don't have to repeat the whole process. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Go with Klapan. For sinus issues, he definitely helps—based on my experience and several people I know who he helped.

Don't go to Ivica Klapan, even by accident. More people have told me after sitting through his expensive consultations that the guy honestly doesn't have a clue; he just knows some theory. It makes sense, though, since he's just a regular professor at a medical school. He has basically zero clinical experience.

Now, you or someone else will probably jump in to say that isn't true. Honestly, I can't tell if you're using a fake profile, which is why this forum is sketchy—anyone can make an account, even private individuals. But I'm telling you based on conversations with people I've spoken to in person. Search his name in the threads, but most of what you find will align with my opinion. The guy hasn't solved anything for anyone with serious problems, whether it's sinuses or a deviated septum.

Mark Garcia82,
If you're actually interested in functional surgery, you're better off going to a major hospital like Mayo Clinic or Johns Hopkins. They have people there with massive amounts of experience and top-tier ENT specialists. Trust me, that is your best and most cost-effective move. Private practitioners who focus on looks are more about aesthetics, but for actual function, stick to a general hospital. With places like Mayo or Hopkins, you won't go wrong.

Look, I’m definitely not some bot or a fake account; I’ve actually been a registered member on this forum for years now,
but honestly, this is my very first time ever posting a question in this specific thread.
I’ve been dealing with this issue for a while and I really just want to find the best way to get it sorted out once and for all.
So, I’ve spent some time shooting off emails to different places:
- I reached out to the Mayo Clinic, but they told me I’d be on a waiting list for this kind of surgery,
which would probably take about a year—and man, I just don't have that kind of time—plus they quoted me around $800.
Then I checked in with a clinic over in Chicago, and they said we're looking at somewhere between $1,600 and $2,100, though they wouldn't give me any idea how long the wait would be.
Finally, I heard back from a specialist in D.C., Ivica Klapan, who basically told me I can't get much info until I come in for a full consultation first.

Rhinoplasty isn't some trivial little tweak; it's high-stakes surgery and there's a massive amount of guesswork involved. Honestly, I'm with everyone else here—you really ought to go to someone who specializes specifically in this stuff.

Give me an example? Even if there were a clinic in Washington, D.C., 🙂

I've got a deviated septum, which makes this whole thing way more complicated than a standard fix. Because of that, I'm not even wasting my breath considering those "jack-of-all-trades" plastic surgeons.

So, please, hit me with any good recommendations you've got! 🙂

If breathing through my nose is a total struggle—is this surgery covered by insurance?
How long is the waitlist usually?
And where should I even go for this?

I suggest seeing Dr. Baudoin over at Mount Sinai. He runs a private practice, too. He mostly sees kids, but he takes adults as well.

I went to him privately because the wait times at the public clinics are months long. However, I had my surgery done through his hospital affiliation. It was covered by insurance, and I didn't have to wait long.

Honestly, yeah—it’s definitely worth having good supplemental insurance.
It really just comes down to which specialist you choose and where you're located.

Got supplemental insurance coverage..
Any leads on good doctors or hospitals?
My husband is totally freaking out about the surgery, so I really don't want him walking away with any lasting trauma...

I’ve been scrolling back through about a hundred pages here, and honestly, I’m floored that nobody has brought up Dr. Bagatin. Not even a single mention, good or bad! It’s wild, especially since his old man was a top-tier maxillofacial surgeon and both his sons followed right in those footsteps. The thing that actually caught my eye about him is this 3D computer system he uses to map out what you'll look like after surgery—now, I have zero clue how accurate that tech actually is, but having some kind of visual preview would be a total game-changer. Does anyone know if any of the other high-end private clinics around here use anything similar? If they don't, how do you guys actually nail down the vision with the doctor so you're both on the same page (like, just talking it out, showing them photos, or something else entirely)?

My husband is pretty nervous about the surgery, so I really want to make sure he avoids any unnecessary trauma or bad experiences...

But how exactly do you all plan on making that happen?
At the end of the day, I truly believe it's a fundamental thing that people should handle their own business and take responsibility for themselves.

Personally, I can't help much there—I'm just a local guy following this thread strictly to jump in if someone needs a specific clarification. Giving out random recommendations without knowing the details just wouldn't feel like fair play to me.

There’s just no way to predict exactly how your tissue is going to react, and honestly, anyone can make a pretty convincing edit in Photoshop.

I get that. But I still think there's huge value in seeing a simulation first. You can sit down with the doctor and say, "Okay, I love this look, but let's ditch that part," so they can actually explain what's realistic and what's just wishful thinking. At the very least, it prevents those nightmare scenarios—like that one guy mentioned a few pages back who had a surgeon totally forget to narrow his nose even though they talked about it before the surgery!

p.s. Dr. Tomica Bagatin, any thoughts from your side?

Look, neither a computer nor a facial scanner is going to perform your surgery. Those tools are just there to help patients visualize what they want. Besides, what does a computer simulation actually guarantee? What is it really telling you? I know that many surgeons in the West don't even use them, despite the tech originating there. The reason is simple: those programs don't account for actual anatomy or other surgical realities. A picture is just a pretty image; it doesn't mean anything beyond an initial visualization.

Beyond that, it’s all smoke and mirrors. The Bagatin clinic is a textbook example of a place that pours massive amounts of money into advertising and branding, while the actual talent behind it is mediocre at best—maybe not even meeting the standards of a basic municipal hospital. And that goes for both Dr. Tomica Bagatin and his brother Dinko Bagatin. Honestly, I’d rather go to a resident at a county hospital than see either of them.

Hannah Hernandez9 said:Personally, I think their before-and-after photos from some pretty failed procedures look terrible.

Hannah, good call. Their gallery photos seriously look like someone intentionally botched a nose ☕, even if their website looks polished and aesthetic. 🤦 🙄 But can someone tell me what the doctor actually did in this photo:

Looking from the side, the profile isn't even straight; they just shortened the tip a bit. If these are the photos they chose to share publicly, I can't imagine what the ones they hide look like... 🤣

Same thing here with their handiwork:

The tip should have been reduced more, and the profile still isn't perfectly smooth. Typical rookie mistakes.

Look, at the end of the day, people need to handle their own damn business.

I can't help—I'm just a guy from a small town in the Midwest, and I only jump into these debates if someone actually needs an explanation. Giving unsolicited advice isn't exactly playing fair.

Trying to convince him he’ll feel better, that he’ll finally be able to breathe normally...
Well, I definitely wouldn't want anyone messing up his nose...
How long does a surgery like that even take?
Do they even put the patient under?
Neither he nor I have ever operated on anything in our lives...

I had surgery once for no real reason at a new hospital, Ochsner. They put me under, didn't feel a thing, no nausea from the anesthesia either. Five days in the hospital, and that was it. Spent years suffering just because I was scared—listening to everyone's horror stories—but it was all for nothing.
