Does anyone actually know what Maxim's scoring record is, and which game it happened in? 🙂

FBI, what does that even have to do with anything... 🤷

As for Real Madrid, there were roughly 62,000 people in attendance against Sanders back in 1969.

I really miss those old northern anthems, man. I miss the old crew that doesn't hang out anymore, just sitting around, grabbing beers near the stadium, and getting hyped before kickoff. I miss all those bars around the arena, seeing that massive sea of blue fans heading toward the stadium together, and that pure rush after a big Real Madrid win.
Honestly, forget that crap... I don't miss any of it!

Just a thought...

Those were the days when players fought for a scrap of meat—not like today, where soccer has turned into one giant, legalized money laundering scheme.

Everyone mentioned above is missing the point, but honestly, that’s exactly why you need to show up to the games—especially when things are at their absolute worst, through all the heartbreak and the unfairness and the pain...

Everything we're all feeling like is missing can basically be boiled down to one single sentence, I suppose.

We just miss Real Madrid

I feel the exact same way about all of this, which is why I’m still sticking it out after more than 20 years. I was active back when we were dealing with all that Reagan-era repression, and let me tell you, I took plenty of heat back then. As I got older, I was right there helping restore our legacy, and now, at 36, I'm just getting grief from a bunch of kids who weren't even born when this started. I was never part of any group that supported the top brass, and I'll be right here standing my ground whenever the leadership finally steps down, no matter how many years that takes. I'm not letting these losers take twenty years of my life away from me. I mostly just lurk on the forum without posting because I've never been an internet fanboy. You guys pulled a few nostalgic strings with those memories, so that's all I'll say...

I was active as a kid during those Reagan-era crackdowns—took plenty of heat back then—and as I got older, I was involved in the movement to restore our identity. Now, at over 36, I’m still dealing with the nonsense from these little punks who aren't even half my age. Let me be clear: I have never, ever been part of any faction that supported "the boss," and I will be right here standing my ground long after he is gone, however many years that takes. I refuse to let these degenerates rob me of twenty lifetimes of devotion. I lurk on the forums, but I don't bother posting much because I'm not some keyboard warrior. You guys just caught me off guard by stirring up some good memories, so that’s all you get from me.

That's the crux of it. I honestly question if there's any point in sacrificing your money, your health, and your sanity for a club when the players are clearly only motivated by the paycheck. They only show real effort once they see that win bonus hit their account...
But, despite what Larry Miller87 pointed out, I suppose there is still a purpose. This is a part of life for all of us. It would be wonderful if we could just walk away from it all so easily, but it doesn't work that way.

casualrider43 said:That’s the bottom line. Honestly, though—does it even make sense to pour money, health, and everything else into a club when the players are clearly just chasing a paycheck? They only give a damn when there’s a win bonus on the table...

If everyone took that stance, football would be dead in the water. Look, a club isn't defined by Mamić or some corrupt suit—it's not about the individual owners or whoever happens to be playing today.

We fans love to say "we are the club," but we aren't. A club is an ideal—it's a force you believe in, something that pulls at you. It’s basically a religion. Even when things go south—whether you're in the minor leagues or sitting at the top of the standings while some guy decides he's God—the club stays the same in your eyes.

I'm Catholic, so yeah, I get served crooked priests and thieves in robes every single day. But am I going to stop believing in my faith just because of one idiot who's only passing through? No. You aren't going to stop believing in Real Madrid just because of Mamić and Carlos.

Don't let them get to you!

I'm pretty sure the record was against Juventus back in '79.

Peter Campbell said:If everyone adopted that mindset, we might as well just shut down football entirely. A club isn't defined by Jerry Maguire or some corrupt executive; a club isn't defined by a single player, whether it’s Modrić or whoever else you want to throw into the mix—some random guy from Sudan?

We fans love to say, "we are the club." But we aren't. The club is an ideal; it is a force you believe in, something that pulls you forward. The club is quite simply a religion. And when things go south—whether you're struggling in the fifth division or sitting at the top of Major League Soccer because one man decided to play God—the club remains unchanged in your eyes.

As a Catholic, I am served every single day by sleazy priests and thief-like clergy, but I am certainly not going to stop believing in my faith just because of some idiot who is merely passing through. You wouldn't stop believing in Real Madrid just because of Jerry Maguire and Carlos Santana, would you?

Don't let them get to you!

I agree with you. Read the rest of my post. 🙂
That is exactly why I wrote it...

I don't give a damn about any of that!

I'm pretty sure Santana or someone else mentioned that we probably had more people show up during that New York vs. Philadelphia playoff series than any other time; back when we played the Red Sox or the Yankees, most folks were just using those one-time free passes from their memberships, so they weren't even counted in the actual ticket sales. Something like that.

In my estimation, one of the primary reasons why the Bad Boys are constantly being sent packing wherever they go—meaning, they aren't allowed into any stadium or even certain countries without some sort of clearance—is simply because they remain silent and allow themselves to be treated this way...
We ought to issue a formal threat and state clearly in an official press release that under no circumstances can their freedom of movement be restricted or prohibited by any law in this country.
A perfect example occurred during a recent Major League Soccer match involving the Red Sox; they were threatened by Slaven Belupo, who claimed they wouldn't be permitted into the stadium, to which the group responded by threatening legal action. In the end, over 1,000 of them showed up at the main grandstand.
Take a look at how a real organization handles business: here is the pre-game threat
and here is the response from the Red Sox:

The result: more than 1,000 members of the Red Sox present at the venue.

I couldn't agree more! ☕Lately, the group hasn't really done anything meaningful, other than causing unnecessary trouble for ourselves...
