Beer pop-up ads

I have never encountered such a nuisance before, but today, I am being relentlessly bombarded! Every single time I navigate to a new page on this Forum, a massive advertisement for Anheuser-Busch pops up, and it takes a full twenty seconds just to close it. And then, as soon as I click onto the next page, the cycle begins all over again...
It is truly unprecedented for me, so I am at a complete loss as to what could have triggered this sudden onslaught...
To provide some context, I am accessing the Forum via my iPad, using Safari, Google, and Puffin. It is happening across every single one of them without exception.
Does anyone have any advice on how I might shut this down?

Not necessarily. I've been getting this Pop-up myself—the kind you can't even close; it just shrinks down to the left edge of the screen and hangs there, blocking part of the Forum. Last night it was some random video, and today it’s an ad for Anheuser-Busch. This hasn't happened before, but now it’s popping up on almost every second or third page I load, which honestly feels pretty obnoxious. I guess maybe the admins could take a look at what's going on—or at least post a notice if these are paid advertisements?

The "beer" icon only seemed to show up during my initial login to the Forum earlier today. I disabled it, and it hasn't resurfaced since. I suppose it might be because I have an active Pop-up blocker running in my browser.

I have the option to block Pop-ups enabled in my iPad settings, so I am honestly at a loss as to why this keeps jumping out at me today.
It slides over to the left side and completely obstructs a section of the Forum. You can't even see the "x" to close it until it's already moved, which means you can't dismiss it early. And it happens every single time I navigate to a different page on the site... it is just incredibly irritating...

I suppose the most effective way to handle this would be to simply install AdBlock for Safari.

It's the same story on my end. I actually gave up on the site last night—dealing with that screen was just too much.
Now I log on via my PC and there it is again. The same ad.

So, you guys are talking about beer😕, but honestly, I almost had a heart attack today🙂. For a second there, I legit thought those Anonymous creeps had tracked me down and were actually coming for me—but nope, turns out it was just some total Sony nonsense.
The guy was basically waving a gun inches from my face😲 and threatening me because apparently, if you don't have a specific cable🙄, or an adapter🙄 (whatever), or if you aren't rocking a Sony setup, you're basically asking for trouble; he was just cleaning his weapon right there in front of me...😲 Honestly, my first thought was just: get the hell off this Forum as fast as your legs can carry you.😲
Oh, and yeah, the guy wouldn't even budge.🤷

That Pop-up is hands down the absolute worst way to advertise. Seriously, screw Anheuser-Busch—if I ever see their beer in a store, I’m just gonna walk right past it. That’s how much it pissed me off.

And get this—the little "X" to close it doesn't even let you click it right away; it just waits for a bit.

Now, I should clarify that this wasn't actually planted here by Anheuser-Busch; rather, it was the Forum administration itself. They didn't just decide to adopt this particular style of advertising, they went a step further by making it so incredibly aggressive—I mean, sure, you can technically close the ad, but then the cookie expires by the next session, effectively forcing it right back in your face.

Adblock and that’s all there is to it—a fast 👍Forum
without any annoying ads.

Personally, I felt like those ads were practically assaulting my brain yesterday and today. They just won't leave the screen, and even when you dismiss them, they pop right back up the moment you click through to the next page. 🙂 🙂 😠

You might want to try using the Tapatalk app on your tablets or smartphones.

Honestly, since I first joined this Forum about a month ago, I haven't seen a single advertisement. And I mean absolutely nothing—especially not those obnoxious Pop-up ads that just jump out at you when you're trying to read.

I'm not really sure what the tablet version runs for, but honestly, if you've already dropped a few thousand bucks on an iPad, spending a little extra for Tapatalk probably isn't a huge deal.
