I feel like after every movie you watch, you become a slightly different person. You go from being someone who hasn't seen it to being someone who has—it’s almost like a shift in identity. I guess the impact is always there, though how much it actually changes you probably depends on both the film itself and whatever headspace you're in at the time. And of course, it doesn't have to be some massive, overnight transformation... sometimes it's just a quiet little change.

I feel like some of these are among the most educational ones—though they all go about it in pretty different ways, I guess.

Citizen Kane
Citizen Kane
Citizen Kane
American Beauty
Citizen Kane
Gone Baby Gone
Fight Club
Fight Club
I mean—you probably shouldn't head out into the middle of nowhere without your phone, right? Just a thought.
The Matrix

And that’s that, I guess. Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog Which one is pulling me closer, I guess? I guess I’ve been thinking about absurdism lately—just that general sense of how weird everything can feel. It’s funny how life works sometimes, isn't it? One minute you think you have a handle on things, and the next, everything just feels a bit surreal. Maybe it's just me, though—I tend to overthink these things.

I watched this back when I was playing high school basketball and drugs started showing up in my neighborhood... well, I certainly became aware of them. This movie actually sparked a conversation about drugs with my old man. It’s honestly the only film I've ever seen that had a direct impact on how my life unfolded. Long story short, I stayed clean and steered clear of the whole scene...

I completely agree! I've seen it about three times now, and you really don't think about how absurd that shit actually is 😳

😢 This is such a heavy scene!
I think I'm going to download it right now and watch it again 😍 🍿

🤣

Forrest Gump

Anywhere But Here
The Green Mile
Cast Away
Requiem for a dream

Nothing else comes to mind immediately, but there are definitely more out there 🙏

There are plenty, but I won't ramble too much, though... lately, over the last few years, this one really stuck with me.

Mary and Max - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0978762/?ref_=sr_1

It’s such a sad story. It feels real, yet it's so exaggerated—both hilarious and heavy at the same time. It hit me hard. I think I've watched it five times now.
The letters they write are funny, and the questions they ask each other are too. Their relationship, two lonely people on opposite sides of the country. Just totally disconnected from everything, which is basically the sickness of modern America. People who just don't fit in. Honestly... I'm getting chills just thinking about it.

A genuinely beautiful movie that gets under your skin easily. 😍

Shutter Island is incredibly tense from start to finish. It really makes you wonder: what's actually true—is it the patient or the doctor? The movie hints at both possibilities, and the mystery finally unravels right at the very end.

When Lambs Fall Silent—I was just left totally fascinated by the brilliant insight and the perceived instability of Hannibal Lecter. Though, calling him contradictory isn't quite right, since geniuses are often viewed as social outcasts or "disturbed" people whom society rejects, yet we simultaneously feel this desperate need for their intellect to save ourselves and humanity.

Gone with the Wind—a total classic, it really blew me away.

The Godfather—mafia, the code of honor, retribution... lots of action. Ah, yes!

Unforgiven—I could watch this one countless times. Clint Eastwood absolutely nailed his performance. Poucan, interesting, and fun. Definitely worth a watch!

Hair—another classic with an intriguing theme; really well put together.

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days—women's intuition, huh? Heh... It’s a cute movie. The premise is a bit cliché, but sometimes you just need something light to switch off your brain and relax.

Look, there were plenty of them long before this one hit the scene, but here—it just popped into my head, and honestly, it isn't nearly as mainstream as the others people keep obsessing over. 😁

There are tons out there, but honestly, only a few are sticking in my mind right now.
Fight Club - I have to say, the lead character is pretty impressive.
krug (the US version) - I watched this when I was barely eleven, and man, I had nightmares about that well and that creepy little girl for ages. It was a pretty rough patch in my life.

The Big Lebowski.

Now that I finally know the secret, I think I might actually figure out how to make it to a hundred and fifty.

Shutter Island,
Butterfly on a Wheel... that's definitely the one for me! I can't really think of any others that hit quite like that...

So, what's the deal? You never want to cheat on a partner again?😂

Nothing about me has changed. Sure, there are smart movies out there, but I’m not going to overhaul my entire personality just because of a film.🤷
