It is what it is. Let’s take a quick look at what lies ahead because we've got the French in the quarterfinals, and honestly, you have to be smart about how you approach a game like that. You can't just play standard handball; you basically have to go to war with them. And if we're talking about pure grit, I truly believe we've got the horsepower to hold our own in a scrap.

Kopljar, Gojun, Musa... any one of those guys could pull a heavy plow through thick mud if they had to. When it comes to raw toughness, we are standing on totally even ground with the French side. There is that old saying about having bloody knees—meaning if we can't walk away with a win, we should at least make sure their heads are bruised and battered. If we leave it looking like a street fight, I'll consider it a job well done.

Honestly, Štrlek is built like he’s made of wet tissue paper. It’s such a massive shame because the kid is an absolute beast on the field, but he just can't seem to stay healthy for more than five minutes without getting banged up.

Just got word from the hospital—Struck broke a metatarsal and he's out.

Maybe he could give Nincevica a call?

Look, we played fair and square, but man, we definitely paid the price for it.

We’re probably just chasing a medal at this point, since the French are likely going to beat us again. 🤷

This was one of the biggest wins in American handball history!

Seriously though, we basically walked into a win that the other team just handed us on a silver platter.

They’ve got two extra players on the court, and what do they do? They just hand the ball right to Smith for a fast break. And when we score our last goal, everyone suddenly decides to give Vaughn a massive amount of personal space because he's HIV positive.

I guess maybe Gomez should try to make up for this win by doing whatever he can to get Ball on the national team for the game against France.

🙂

They’ve got two extra players on the floor, and instead of playing defense, they just hand the ball right to Smith for the fast break. It was like during our last goal, everyone just gave Vaughn a wide berth like he was carrying some kind of contagious disease.

You aren't kidding. Those Spaniards are shady as hell—and look, I’m not trying to be disrespectful to the Romani community here, I’m just being real.

They couldn't beat us at basketball during the AP tournament in Belgrade unless the refs practically gifted them the win, and then it was the exact same story during the last soccer Euros where the officials paved the way for them to scrape by. That’s just how they operate; it’s baked into their DNA to cut corners, cheat, and steal just to cross the finish line.

It’s such a bizarre paradox when you think about it. Instead of celebrating the fact that we actually took down the Spaniards on their own home turf, we’re sitting here moping because the whole competitive system is just fundamentally broken and nonsensical.

It’s almost like our handball players should be the ones apologizing for not knowing how to play dirty in a world that runs on deception and rigged games.

We’re the fools for playing by the rules, while everyone else looks like geniuses because they aren't afraid to cheat.

What exactly would be unfair about letting the starters rest for once? It would have given Keta—or whoever’s coaching—the chance to just say, "Alright guys, take the win, play at full tilt"

I mean, who are we actually hurting here? Who are we screwing over? In what way could that possibly be considered unfair?

Honestly, if someone is trashing this idea, they’re really just trashing the whole concept of tactical management itself

I guess there's just a lot of talk about those anti-fascist groups lately. Maybe it’s all over the news, or maybe I'm just seeing it more often on my feed. It feels like things are pretty intense right now. kaže:
I mean, why did Vaughn have to score right there in the 59th minute to take the lead? Honestly, who could really blame him if he had missed? It’s not like it was easy. I guess we'll probably see a lot of similar shots like that now against the French team, too.

Maybe it’s just his thing, but whenever he goes up against a Frenchman, everything seems to go off the rails. It’s almost like his trademark style at this point. 🙂

The system works perfectly fine!
Think of it like this: we were given a choice between a leisurely stroll toward the championship or a high-stakes gamble with a massive risk of crashing out in the quarterfinals.
We simply opted for the adrenaline rush.
Now, the real question remains: was this brilliant strategy or just pure madness?

It basically gave us a choice between taking a slow stroll toward the trophy or grabbing a massive shot at getting knocked out in the quarterfinals.
Well, we went ahead and picked the latter.
Now we’re left wondering whether what we just did was a stroke of genius or just plain old stupidity.

Look, are you actually certain we wouldn't have run into a Pole, a Mexican, or a Canadian if we had been in a different bracket and wanted to move forward? On paper, this looks like a dream scenario, but there’s absolutely no guarantee we wouldn't have been bumped out in the round of sixteen instead. And who knows how things will shake out? It could be that the Icelanders end up facing the Frenchmen, and then maybe they eventually cross paths with us. Or maybe we’ll be the ones staring down the French, or even the Danes. Heck, maybe even the Danes won't make it to the semifinals...😁

Personally, I'm just looking forward to another epic showdown against those French rooster warriors.

The worst-case scenario is coming.

We’ll end up stuck in a corner with the French, and then the Danes will just kick us aside. It’ll be a total joke, I guess.

Who’s actually scared of the French? They’re gonna get crushed by the Icelanders, and even if they somehow pull it off, our guys will get them back for the Olympics. That was just a fluke, we're about to blow them out of the water. 👍

We'll end up stuck in the mud with the French, only to get kicked aside by the Danes. Now that would be a comedy of errors.

just like during the 2008 tournament.

Honestly, I hope we get knocked out in the Round of 16. If we're being led by an idiot, we don't deserve to make the quarterfinals anyway. Besides, I have zero interest in watching us get absolutely slaughtered by the French. I'd rather let our neighbors from Belarus beat us instead.

Sports? Ideals? Whatever. It doesn't matter.

On paper, sure, it looks great, but who’s to say we don't just crash in the Round of 16? Who knows what happens next. Maybe Icelanders face the French, and then maybe they end up facing us. Or maybe we get the French, or maybe Dance. Even the Danes might not make the semis...😁

I'm looking forward to another epic showdown against the French rooster.

Fairy tales belong in the children's section of the library. 😁

Mexicans can't even execute two decent plays, and I've watched three of their games. We'd toy with them.

Mexicans? 😂

We'd have to beat Germany. Russia? When was the last time we even played them?

If it were that, it'd be a walk to the finals. Not this way. Iceland without Steffanson is too weak, even if they did beat the French at the Olympics.

But this? This is a dogfight. A real battle. With Colonel Goluža and General Gobac leading the charge. We're going in with knives while those roosters have swords.

I feel bad for the kids having to listen to some caricature on the bench. And Big Brother with his pig head.
