Look, no offense intended, but when are you actually going to stop venting about this topic? It’s getting old, and honestly, nobody is stepping up to help me either. You should probably just track down someone on here who’s had surgery with Dave Grohl and hit them up privately; I’m planning on doing the exact same thing because I’d rather wait for some actual intel than just sit here spinning my wheels doing nothing. I’ve been hoarding all the info I can find on him in a Notepad file, so I'll send it over to you tonight, though I can't make any promises.
So I'm sitting here at my checkup with the Holy Spirit right now, and they’ve gone ahead and scheduled all of us for 10:00 AM sharp. Honestly, what an absolute joke.
Hey there.

It's me again 🙂
So, today is day four since they pulled out those tampons—it didn't exactly hurt, but man, it was super uncomfortable. It's quick though, so I guess it's fine...
Right now, it’s just constant drainage, which is kind of annoying, so I started using some Pfizer drops five times a day.
Nothing really hurts, and I still feel that pressure because of the cast, but I can't breathe through my nose at all.
I can't seem to catch a full breath, and whenever I try to inhale through my nose, it sounds like a trumpet 😁
The thing that’s actually worrying me is this yellow mucus I'm seeing—is that normal? Also, I'm done with the antibiotics, but I've still been running a low fever of about 99.5 every single day.

Are you seriously still breathing through your mouth?!! Ugh, I was honestly hoping I’d finally be able to take a full breath once they pulled those disgusting tampons out 😢. Another sleepless night in the books for me...
Oh, and yeah, there's still a bit of spotting happening. It's nothing life-threatening, just constant, but hey, at least I'm handling it like a champ

The doctor was actually pretty sympathetic about the whole thing, so he even put some tubes through my tampons to help me catch a breath, but honestly? It’s useless. Everything is still completely clogged up.
And I seriously don't get why everyone is so split on how to handle this—some people are pulling their tampons out by day two, while I’m stuck waiting until day five. What gives?

Hey, just dropping in to share some wisdom since I’m feeling pretty enlightened today... My older cousin, who's about 45, just told me with total confidence that if anyone's dealing with sinus issues or a stuffed nose, you should basically just go eat a salad. Seriously, if you care about looking decent, maybe check with your doctor first to see if they actually do that, but personally, I'm just happy with my results =P. As long as it fixes my stamina and kills these headaches so I can finally feel like I'm flying again, I'm good.

Oh, and there's still a little bit of bleeding—nothing crazy, but it's constant, I guess. At least I think I'm handling it okay so far.
I could try to send a photo, but honestly, it's such a hassle and I'm really not looking to force anything right now.
Are you using a Q-tip to poke at your nose near your ear, and have you noticed any of that yellow mucus?
And yeah, my sense of smell actually came back. The only problem is that all I can smell is how bad my own nose stinks.😬

I can't exactly go poking around because I've got a tampon in, and honestly, it's only day three. Ugh, I would give anything just to be able to use a bidet or something. I'm still stuck in the "bloody" phase—nothing has turned yellow or green yet 🙂

So today is day four, and they finally pulled those tampons out. Honestly, it didn't really hurt, just felt super weird and uncomfortable, but I guess it's over quickly enough so whatever..
Now I'm just constantly dealing with this thick discharge, so I started using Pfizer drops about five times a day.
Nothing hurts per se, though I still feel some pressure since I've got the cast on, and I can't breathe through my nose at all.
I can't seem to get any air in, and whenever I try, my nose makes this crazy trumpet sound 😁
The thing that's actually bugging me is this yellow mucus I'm seeing—is that normal? Also, I'm off the antibiotics now, but I'm still running a fever of 99.5 every single day :/
As far as I know, Pfizer is usually for eye conjunctivitis... Where are you even putting those drops?
Quick question for everyone else: I was told the tip would be swollen and that I'd end up with a bump on the bridge of my nose, but nobody mentioned when that bump actually goes away. It's kind of frustrating because I don't have a bump right now, so I'm worried I might actually end up making things worse than they already are!
And it’s even more annoying reading all these conflicting opinions about the doctor who’s supposed to reshape my nose in a month and charge me $16,000 $0.00!!!

Thanks for the heads up, I guess I'll go grab some right away just to be safe. It’s probably around $6.75, and I might even need two or three packs since they come in those tiny little containers and you have to apply it like five times a day, so yeah...

Who told you that?

Tom Hanks.
I guess I'll probably just end up with this swelling right at the bridge of my nose that eventually goes down, maybe.
I mean, I’m actually leaning more toward a full reconstruction rather than just a standard nose job. I think I probably need to have everything cleared out and basically rebuilt from scratch, since my septum healed all crooked because of that diagonal deviation.

...So I'm going to end up with this swelling right at the bridge of my nose that's just going to burst.
Actually, I'm leaning more toward a reconstruction than just a standard nose job. I need everything cleared out and rebuilt from scratch because everything healed all wrong due to this septum that runs off at an angle.
Look, everyone’s nose tip gets swollen after surgery—honestly, don't let that freak you out too much. As for that specific swelling at the bridge you mentioned? Your best bet is definitely to have a real heart-to-heart with your surgeon about it.
Since you've set your sights on Tom Hanks, just be super careful—make sure you walk him through every single detail of what you want and, more importantly, what you absolutely *do not* want.😉
It might actually be a smart move to grab a second opinion from another surgeon, just to be totally sure. I once rushed headlong into a procedure, and let me tell you, it came back to haunt me big time later on. That's why I always tell people: stay cautious and do your homework first. At the end of the day, we're talking about your face here! Good luck!

I'm honestly feeling pretty lost right now. Like, why did he tell me I'd have this swelling when other patients who sent him photos didn't have any bumps near their forehead area?
And why did he write "rhinoplasty" on the report but then put "septoplasty" next to it with a question mark? Maybe I'll actually need two separate procedures and he's just not being upfront about it!

Who even asked you?! I’m doing my own thing and making my own calls—I don't just waste time for the sake of it. If I had actually known someone who underwent surgery with him, I wouldn't be scouring this thread for answers! I’m gathering info however I can because I am determined to make a smart choice this time around. :503
Patrick Robinson7 said:No offense, but when are you going to stop being so defensive about this topic? Nobody is helping me either... try looking for someone on this forum who had surgery with Dave Grohl and send them a private message instead; that's what I'm doing, and I'd rather wait for real info than rush into nothing. I've been keeping all my notes on him in Notepad, so I'll let you know what I find tonight, but I can't promise anything.
I'm at my follow-up appointment with the Holy Spirit right now, and they scheduled all of us for 10:00 AM. Dammit.
Best,

God, what is wrong with everyone lately? Did the pre-holiday madness finally snap your brains? It feels like every single thread over the last few days has turned into some kind of petty shouting match. I’m asking you nicely: keep the communication civil, or people are going to start getting banned.

Hi there 🙂
I'm new to this thread... basically, after half my life, I've finally decided to see an ENT to fix a deviated septum and nasal passage issues I've had since childhood. It’s becoming a massive headache now that I'm 40—and just to be clear, I don't want any cosmetic work, my nose is already tiny enough.
I've settled on the Vineyard clinic and booked an appointment with Dr. Griffin.
Has anyone here actually seen him? Looking for any kind of feedback or experiences you might have. I'd really appreciate it if you could share. Thanks

Hey, I need some advice from the pros here—what’s the best way to deal with a Hematoma around the eyes? What actually works to get rid of them, and how much longer am I going to be looking like a bruised mess? It’s currently day 4 since my surgery
