I’m feeling pretty good about taking the over on Denver at 103.5 today
They had a rough start to the season—I guess you could partially justify it since those three losses all came on the road—but they looked a bit scattered in their last game against the Miami Heat, though they did manage to pull it out in the end.
I see that as an extra little nudge for them to show up for their first home game in great shape, because despite looking a bit worn down, they still haven't tasted a win yet. As for the Detroit Pistons, they honestly look like one of the five worst teams in the league based on how this season started.
With a healthy Anderson Faried, Denver looks like they can put up about 10 more points than they do without him. To me, over the last two seasons, they've seemed like a pretty disorganized squad; it doesn't seem like their goal is to control the offense during those 24 seconds, but rather just dump the ball in as fast as possible and hope for the best against whatever the opponent throws at them.
Faried has proven he can be great when he's locked in for a game, and Jaونا McGee can probably chip in his usual amount alongside Nenê. Then there's Ty Lawson, who if he hits a couple of early shots or drives to the rim, could easily hit his over. I wouldn't be surprised if he starts racking up some assists, too. Andre Iguodala is just as vital for defense, transition, and the offense. I expect them to come out playing at their current peak from the jump and maybe even hit 60+ points by halftime, much like what the LA Lakers did to them.
I might combine this with Valencia in the EuroCup. They're a solid team, really well-coached, and in many ways, they hold their own against Real Madrid and FC Barcelona in their league. I could see them finishing in the top 4 again and making a real run for the title, so maybe the EuroCup provides enough motivation for them to try and go all the way...
1.85 x 1.20 should bring in a nice little profit once the MT settles.
