They aren't doing too bad either. Plus, they snagged Adam Lamb, the 12th pick, who everyone's calling this massive "steal" for Houston—like, people genuinely think he's worth way more than a top-12 guy—but weirdly enough, he barely saw any action against the San Antonio Spurs 🤷 Now, I don't know if that was just a one-off thing or if the OKC Thunder coach is planning to bench him (which would be a massive mistake)... who knows..
I'm also feeling pretty good about an Oklahoma City Thunder win tonight. Like, 90% sure.
If you ask me, they struggled on both ends of the floor... why?! Because right now, they're basically just leaning on Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant as the only guys capable of creating their own shot or actually setting someone else up. Everyone else seems totally dependent on them—either waiting on the perimeter for a shot or hanging out under the rim hoping for a layup or a dunk... James Harden was that third piece that really took the pressure off those two, even helping settle Russell Westbrook down and covering for his mistakes. I mean, Harden has those playmaker instincts, he could carry the bench production, kill it in isolation, hit streaks from deep, run the break, and he was actually solid defensively... don't forget, James Harden was the main reason they were able to take down the San Antonio Spurs to make the Western Conference Finals last season.😉
I don't know, personally I think they look like a worse squad than they did last year. We'll just have to wait a year or two to see how it plays out...
