James Smith50 said:Looking at how they defended things in those first two quarters, I feel like grabbing the over on 46.5 points in the third quarter might actually be a solid live bet. 🙂

That’s a smart move. I actually just grabbed 👍
Plus, since we know the Heat usually go absolutely ballistic in the third, this could easily be a scoring spree. 😁

Joshua Gonzalez33 said:Along with those Spurs parlay picks, I’d throw in an over on Gasol for 17.5 points at +100 odds. Dirk and Kom is out, and the Mavs look weak in the paint tonight. Kobe probably won't see much heavy lifting either. Dwight brings way more to the defensive side than offense, and since Nash isn't exactly a sharpshooter, I'm seeing Gasol put up some decent numbers tonight. Good luck to everyone who bet against me lol 🙂 !

Phila - Denver x2 @1.75
5/10

So, looking at Denver... honestly, the Sixers' top guy from last season—their new main man Bynum—is already banged up and he's sitting this one out today. Plus, they lost Lou Williams, Jodie Meeks, and Elton Brand, so I guess the whole roster feels way thinner than it did last year. They just don't look nearly as deep.
Bargnani under 20.5
The Raptors are running into one of the toughest defensive squads in the league, the Pacers, and they've got Roy Hibbert—who is easily one of the best centers out there right now—anchoring the paint to shut things down.

wiredcanyon39, quick correction on my end—I'm thinking it'll be Garnett - West - Valanciunas - Hibbert

Yeah, you've probably got a point there, but I'm still sticking with my bet on ☕

Man, what a bummer about Miami, but honestly? That feeling hasn't left me yet and I’m telling you, things can only look up from here for the rest of the season!😉

Toronto
-So the home team has been absolutely tearing it up in the preseason (going 6-1), and if you ask me, they’re looking like a legitimate threat this year. I mean, they actually managed to keep their heavy hitters like Siakam and DeRozan, plus they snagged Valanciunas—that Lithuanian big man should totally dominate the paint, especially since he’s already showing what he can do in training with an average of 8 points and nearly 7 boards. Throw in guys like Lowry, Lucas, and Landry, and suddenly you’re looking at a squad that actually commands some respect. On the flip side, the visitors are taking a massive hit without Granger; losing his 20 PPG average is huge, especially when none of their other starters even touch the 12.8 mark. It's gonna be a nightmare to replace that kind of production. Last season, these two met three times and the away team walked away with the win all three times (always within a 5-point spread), but let’s be real—they were at full strength back then while Toronto was playing without Siakam, which is a massive hole to fill. The oddsmakers had the home team at 2.25 yesterday, but the line started tanking toward 2.05 by the time I actually dropped my money. Plus, the home coach is sitting pretty with a 3-0 start to the season.
Dallas +8.5
-Look, everyone wrote them off against the Lakers, but they proved they could still take down a powerhouse like LA even without Dirk and Komando. Today they’re facing a team they basically own—they’ve won 7 out of their last 8 matchups (and that one loss went to overtime anyway). Even if they end up losing, I don't see them getting blown out by much.
Griffin over 18.5
-I played this guy constantly last year, and man, there were days I wanted to pull my hair out because he'd just fail me, but the guy is an absolute beast. Now that he’s finally shaken off that injury that sidelined him for months, he should clear this line easily. Honestly, 18.5 feels way too low given how he plays; last season, his line usually hovered between 21.5 and 23.5.
Deng over 17.5
-With their star player dealing with that injury setback again, everything shifts back to him. He’s definitely going to be hunting for at least 15+ shots, and since he’s got a decent eye for the three-pointer, I think the over is a no-brainer.

Utah Jazz vs. Dallas Mavericks 1
I’ve got a feeling Dallas isn't walking away with a win tonight... I mean, they just went up against the Lakers yesterday—and even though the Lakers were playing pretty rough, there are a ton of new faces in Dallas right now, so things aren't exactly synchronized yet. It's gonna take some time to gel... Plus, Dallas is on a back-to-back, which is always tough, and Utah is one of those tricky teams at home—they can honestly beat anyone on a given night. Dallas is missing Dirk and Kaman, which basically means they're down two major big men, while Utah is actually one of the most dominant squads in the league when it comes to interior play... I'm thinking Milsap, Favors, Jefferson, and Kanter should really control the paint tonight. Sure, Dallas has a better perimeter shooting lineup, but you can't just sleep on Utah (Mo Williams, Randy Foye, G. Hayward, Marvin Williams...) so I think the home team's advantage inside should outweigh Dallas's edge outside... especially considering the back-to-back situation and the fact that it's in Utah... yeah, I'm leaning toward the home team tonight.
New Orleans Pelicans vs. San Antonio Spurs 2
Honestly, I don't think there's much of a dilemma here—you just have to look at both rosters and it's pretty obvious... it would be a massive shock if the home team pulled this off. Even though the visitors are missing Ginóbili, they've got plenty of guys who can step up and fill that void decently enough... the main reason I'm making this pick is that I just don't see anyone capable of stopping Parker, and once he gets going, the Spurs are basically unstoppable... besides, the Spurs are famous for absolutely tearing it up during the regular season—they often have one of the best records in the league—plus, they've got what I'd call the best coach in the game and a deep bench of quality players... I think I'll just take the single bet on the Spurs -6.5...

Spurs +2
At 1.45, you have to take this. With Victor Wembanyama leading the way against one of the worst teams in the league, I’m taking the spread.

Now that they've moved Afflalo and Harrington to Orlando, Denver is going to lean heavily on Ty Lawson and Danilo Gallinari. That said, bringing in Iguodala—who plays a very similar style to Afflalo—means the roster hasn't actually shifted much from last season. They remain one of the elite offensive units in the NBA, bolstered at center by Faried, who put up 10 points and 7 rebounds in just 22 minutes last year while shooting 58% from the field. You also can't forget Brewer and Chandler providing reliable production off the bench. What really helps Denver here is that Bynum is out for the first three weeks with an injury, which clears the path at the five.

Quick heads-up!

13.5/Hibbert - over 1,85

I’m not gonna sit here and lecture you guys, keeping it simple.
With Granger out of the rotation, he’s definitely going to grab a few extra shots.

-6,5 SA

Gordon is out too.

After following my Boston bet last night, I’m doubling down today with another away over. I’m looking at Dallas hitting the over on 89.5 points. Even though they're playing on a back-to-back, I think they breeze through this. The main reason? Their transition play is lightning fast compared to how they looked last year, plus the Utah squad has gotten way younger—they tend to play way too fast for their own good early in games.

Everything feels a little lower scoring this season because of the lockout effects, but since everyone’s been together training for a full month now, the shooting should be much better than last year when nobody could get in rhythm. Expect most teams to have solid shooting form early on before defensive schemes actually start clicking later in the season.

Gallo’s out with a sprained ankle and Mozgov is dealing with knee strain, so they're missing both guys for the Philly game tonight.

The Clippers are looking pretty thin tonight too: Grant Hill (knee), Chauncey Billups (Achilles), Trey Thompkins (knee), and Matt Barnes is sitting out on suspension.

Looks like tomorrow's Nets vs. Knicks matchup might be postponed.

I'm leaning towards Dallas not pulling this one out tonight... I mean, they just got hammered by a Lakers squad that wasn't even playing their best, and honestly, with all these new faces coming in, they aren't anywhere near being cohesive yet—they’re gonna need some serious time to gel. Plus, Dallas is on a back-to-back, which always sucks, and Utah at home is just... tricky. They can beat anybody on a given night. On top of that, Dallas is missing Dirk and Kaman—so yeah, two massive big men gone—while Utah is actually one of the most dominant teams in the league when it comes to those interior spots. Between Milsap, Favors, Jefferson, and Kanter, they should really control the paint tonight. Sure, Dallas has a better perimeter game, but you can't just sleep on Utah (Mo Williams, Randy Foye, G. Hayward, Marvin Williams...) so I think the home team's advantage inside should outweigh Dallas's shooting outside... combined with the fatigue from the back-to-back and the Utah crowd, I'm calling it for the home team tonight...
New Orleans vs. San Antonio 2
Man, there's basically no debate here if you just look at the rosters—it’s pretty obvious. It would be a massive shocker if the home team walked away with a win... and even though the visitors are missing Manu, they've got plenty of depth to step up and fill that void. The main reason I'm picking this is that I don't see anyone who can actually slow down Tony Parker, and once he gets into a rhythm, the Spurs are basically unstoppable. Besides, the Spurs have this reputation for absolutely tearing it up during the regular season—they often have one of the best records in the league—and in my book, they've got the best coach in the NBA and a deep bench of solid players... I think I might even put a single bet on the Spurs at -6.5...
