Hey there,

I’m looking to pick up a new monitor by $533, ideally a 22" model—since I spend basically my entire life glued to a screen (mostly office work, programming, and catching movies), I really don't want something that's going to absolutely wreck my eyes. So far, I've narrowed it down to two specific options:

(though, it looks like this one might be out of stock right now—hopefully, they have some sitting in a warehouse somewhere else!).

Dell. A huge number of people rely on that Dell monitor, and from what I gather, most seem pretty satisfied with it overall.

So, what’s everyone’s take on HP? I’ve had the pleasure of working on one before and—I have to say—I really quite liked it! I haven't actually spent any time using a Dell yet, though.

Definitely going with the Dell—it's a solid monitor for that price point

Hey there! I'm looking to pick up a new 23" monitor, mainly to use for gaming and watching movies. I've had a few people suggest either the Dell U2312HM or the ASUS ML239H. My budget is around $500. If you guys have a third option in mind that fits the bill, I'm all ears. Thanks!

You’ve also got this Samsung option sitting right there in that same price bracket: http://www.nytimes.com

I’d probably consider the IPS 235 too. Since it has a higher number in the model name, does that actually imply it's a better unit?
