Metal Detecting

Hi everyone. I'm looking to pick up a Metall detector, so I'd like to know what the price range looks like, where I can find one, and any basic info you might have. I want to learn everything about it.

You can find some cheaper ones around the $1,000 mark--$667but you’d really have to strike gold to get a good deal on those.

I’ve been weighing the idea of picking one up myself, though investing in the real deal definitely requires a significant chunk of change...

Thanks! I’d really love to get my hands on one... mostly for the coins. I saw some detectors on eBay for as low as $80, but I have a feeling importing them might be more of a headache than it's worth.

Could you walk me through how someone actually puts these methods to work? I mean, sure, the theory is all laid out in the textbook, but that stuff is pretty dense and academic, and honestly, I’m looking for something more practical right now because I’ve got a trip coming up this weekend where I need to check some things out on the ground...
