You can probably snag an HD 6570/DDR3 for around $400--$150 though honestly, anything weaker than that isn't even worth your time. What exactly are you trying to do with HDMI anyway?

If it's a weaker model, it’s just not worth the cash—you're basically throwing money down the drain at that point. Anyway, what are you even planning to use HDMI for?

So, I hooked my PC up to a Panasonic plasma using like a 10-meter cable... and man, it makes for one killer media player. Honestly, just sitting back and watching stuff now is a whole different vibe... everything just flows so smoothly...

How much of an upgrade is that compared to my old GeForce 7600 gt, especially since it's still weaker than something like an HD6770? Also, will it handle medium-high settings at 1024x768 for those games I listed and similar titles?

The one for $90 is better

Hey everyone, I'm currently putting together a new PC build. My main goal is to pick up a graphics card that lets me play some games here and there without breaking the bank... I'm not looking to push everything to max settings, just something reliable.

So, I was wondering what would pair well with an AMD Athlon II X2 250. I’d prefer to keep costs low—maybe even look into the used market?

Hey everyone... so, my old ATI Radeon HD4870 finally kicked the bucket on me recently—it just died. I'm looking for some advice on picking up a slightly better card {do $267(used)} that can actually handle all these newer titles, like Prototype 2 and stuff like that, without breaking a sweat

Since you mentioned looking for something used, I think a $300 GTX 460 would be a solid choice—though if you can stretch your budget by another $33, you might want to grab the
MSI Twin FROZR GTX 460 1 GB HAWK instead. Here are some benchmarks comparing it against the HD4870 so you can see the difference http://www.hwcompare.com/8285/geforc...n-hd-4870-1gb/
Also, what kind of power supply are you running?

Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone could help me decide which of these two graphics cards is actually the better choice:
Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS or the ASUS EAH 5570 Silent

Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS:
SPECIFICATIONS - XFX GeForce 8800 GTS 640 mb GDDR3
Core Specs
Manufacturer: XFX
Model: GeForce 8800 GTS 640 mb GDDR3
Processor
GPU: Geforce 8800GTS
Clock Speed: 500MHz
DirectX Support: DirectX 10
Memory
Capacity: 640 MB
Interface: 320 bit
Type: GDDR3
Clock Speed: 1600 MHz
Connectivity
RAMDAC: 400 MHz
Max Resolution: 2560x1600
Slot: PCI Express x16
Ports: Dual-DVI, HDTV Out,
Other: SLI,

ASUS EAH 5570 Silent
Chipset: ATI Radeon HD 5570
Memory: 1 GB DDR2 (128-bit)
Core Clock: 650 MHz
Memory Clock: 800 MHz (400 MHz DDR2)
Bus Standard: PCI Express 2.1
Analog VGA Connector: D-sub Digital flat panel
Digital Interface: 1 x DVI-I (HDcP), HDMI

The reason I'm asking is that I've heard rumors suggesting that Nvidia tends to produce much higher quality graphics than ATI.
While this ASUS card uses an ATI chip and technically offers more memory, I suppose I would really appreciate hearing from people who might have a deeper understanding of these components.

The 8800 is probably better.

Who on earth told you that Nvidia performs way better than ATI? Honestly, it’s all just tiny nuances. At the end of the day, it really just comes down to finding the absolute best bang for your buck, unless you're just being a total fanboy for one side or the other... what am I 🙄

Hey there! I'm looking for some advice on a new GPU—my old GeForce 7300 GS finally gave up the ghost. My setup is about five years old now, so I’m just hoping to squeeze a little more life out of it before it's time for a total overhaul😁:

MB: 945PL-Neo F s775 DDR2
CPU: Intel Core2Duo E4400 2.00G
RAM: DDR2 1GB (x2)
OS: Windows XP SP3
PSU: 400W ATX

Just grab whatever bottom-of-the-barrel ATI card you can find—maybe a 5450 or something—because, let's be honest, your PC clearly wasn't built for gaming in the first place, so it won't really matter what you pick.

Thanks for the suggestion—it definitely pulled its weight back in the day... and honestly, it’ll still get the job done for Diablo 2.😍

I suppose those differences are mostly just minor nuances, where everything ultimately boils down to finding the best value for your money—unless, of course, you happen to be a fanboy for one specific brand... what's my 🙄

Before I actually posted my question, I spent some time searching online and kept running into various posts claiming that Nvidia is much better than ATI and that their graphics cards are far superior. If we are truly talking about such small nuances, then maybe I should just go ahead and pick this 5570???

That’s not really true; both companies are pretty much on the same level. I guess Nvidia just has slightly better drivers.

Thanks... so, in that case, should I just go ahead and grab the Creative Sound Blaster?

Anyone else ever torn between picking up a GeForce GTX 660 Ti or a Radeon HD 7870? Which one did you end up grabbing? Thanks! ☕

Honestly, when you look at the price tag, picking up an HD 7950 over the 660 Ti isn't even a question—it’s a total no-brainer. 🙂

Man, I totally missed all those 7950 benchmarks, and I already pulled the trigger on a 660 Ti 🙂

It's fine though, the GeForce isn't even that much slower anyway...
