I honestly don't think you could even find anything beefier for an AGP slot... besides, everything you've got going on is pretty weak right now. Wouldn't it be better to just save up some cash and overhaul the whole rig through Craigslist?

Or maybe

The GeForce GTX 670—it pulls less power, stays way cooler, and doesn't deal with those constant driver headaches you get with a Radeon... if it were me, I'd definitely grab this one instead of whatever PoV is suggesting:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual core 6000+ processor

4 GB of RAM

500W power supply

ASUS M4A77 motherboard

I'm not sure if I missed anything else... basically, I just want something slightly better than what I have now. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd really appreciate it! 🙂)))

Can anyone lend me a hand here?

I mean, someone would probably step up to help you, but you really need to let us know what kind of budget we're working with first...

What should I upgrade next?
My motherboard won't let me go past 2 GB of RAM, so I'm feeling pretty stuck.

Well, just look at the "title" of the post 😬

The HD 7770, even if that CPU ends up being a bit of a bottleneck...

To be honest, this 670 series is just overwhelming... there are so many different models out there. It seems like every other card has some kind of "special feature," so I don't really see much point in even looking at the 680. This was the only thing that actually caught my eye: 🙂 I wonder if someone was trying to play games with the seller? 😁

ahaaa, I totally missed that because I wasn't actually reading those previous posts above... I just saw his quote on that first post where the price was listed, and this one doesn't even have a title 🤣

So whatever, let him grab the HD 7770. Who cares? If he's planning on building a whole new rig anytime soon, he can just move the card over to the new build later anyway...

Honestly, they should just grab the HD 7770. It’s a solid choice, and if they end up building a new PC soon, they can just move it over to the new build.

Would that graphics card actually work with my motherboard and everything? Would it be compatible?

Well, it’s got a PCI-e slot... that's really all you need. This card doesn't pull much power, so I guess you probably won't even need to upgrade your PSU.😛

The Phantom isn't even available for purchase....
What are everyone's thoughts on the /0/']]/0/ ?
For a bit less money, it seems like it might have pretty great cooling capabilities

You could grab that one too—Gigabyte builds cards with seriously solid cooling systems.

I just ordered it through Micro Center's online store... ... it should arrive this Friday. ^^
Based on the reviews I've seen, the cooling seems to be very quiet and efficient... pretty much on par with what ASUS offers. Either way, I think this is going to be a much better move than trying to run a 6950 in CrossFire.

Would this one work with my current rig, and is it actually any good? http://www.diskont24.com/product.php...8&cat=0&page=1

I’ve been staring at this setup for hours, just thinking about how much things have changed since I first started building rigs back in the day... It’s funny, really. You think you know what you're getting into, then a piece of hardware decides to act up and suddenly you're three hours deep into a forum thread at 2 AM. Anyway, I was looking back at some old benchmarks and it's wild how far we've come. Remember when people were actually struggling to run basic titles on a GeForce 8500 GT? I can still feel the heat radiating off those old cases... it was like having a small space heater under my desk. Now, we're talking about massive power draws and thermal throttling on high-end cards, yet we still deal with the same headaches. I saw a comment from Taylor Brown earlier that got me thinking about component longevity. There's always that one guy who thinks if you just overclock an AMD Phenom II x4 955 BE hard enough, it'll outperform modern silicon. Good luck with that... you'll just end up with a very expensive paperweight and a melted socket. I mean, I've seen it happen. I've seen people try to push an old Radeon HD 5670 past its breaking point thinking they could squeeze out a few more frames in Call of Duty: Battlefield 3. It doesn't work like that. Physics doesn't care about your hype... It just makes me wonder why we keep chasing the same diminishing returns. We swap out a Radeon HD 7770 for something slightly faster, or maybe upgrade an old AM2 board, and for what? A couple of extra frames? Sometimes I feel like we're all just running in circles... anyway, I'm rambling. I need more coffee before I tackle this driver issue. kaže:
So... would this actually work with my current rig? And more importantly, is it even worth picking up at all? I mean, I'm trying to figure out if it’ll play nice with what I've got under the hood or if I'm just throwing money down the drain... I was just scrolling through some listings online, looking at what's available, and I stumbled upon this page... honestly, it's kind of a mess. It’s one of those sites where you feel like you need a map and a compass just to find a decent deal on hardware. You know the type—lots of clutter, questionable layouts, and that feeling that you might accidentally click something you didn't intend to. I don't know, maybe I'm just being picky, but when you're hunting for specific components or trying to compare prices, you want something clean. Something that doesn't make you work for it. This just feels like a relic from an older era of the internet... anyway, I'll keep digging, but my patience is already wearing thin...

It would probably work... Smartic already mentioned that if you haven't seen his post yet... You can just plug it straight into the motherboard and call it a day.
Honestly, if you ask me, I’d much rather just go with... So, I finally got my hands on this MSI 7770 Power edition... you know, the one with the 1GB of GDDR5. It’s got the usual lineup—DVI, HDMI, and an mDP port if you're feeling fancy. Honestly, just sitting here looking at it, I can't help but wonder where everything went wrong with hardware lately... everything feels so flimsy now, doesn't it? Back in the day, things actually felt like they were built to last, but nowadays... well, you know how it is. Anyway, back to the card itself. It's decent enough for what it is, I suppose... if you don't expect miracles... Honestly, it’s basically the exact same thing, just from a different manufacturer. And if you look at the fine print, going with MSI actually gives you three years of warranty coverage—that's an entire extra year compared to what ASUS offers... so, really, there isn't much of a reason to look elsewhere.

My motherboard won't support more than 2 GB of RAM.

Look... why would you even spend money $100 on used parts, or drop $500 on something new when the whole rig isn't worth much to begin with$67? Plus, you still won't be able to run anything released after 2008 anyway...🤷

haha, yeah I know—it's just that if I could actually afford a new setup, I would. My wallet is currently looking pretty empty xD

Hey everyone... so I finally picked up this card and I've got this monitor sitting here, and now I'm wondering what the best way to hook these two pieces of hardware together actually is... I've heard some talk about using a DVI to HDMI adapter being a decent enough move, but who knows if that's actually true...

That link for your monitor isn't even working... 🙂
Look, if your monitor has an HDMI port, just use that and call it a day. If it doesn't, use DVI. It really isn't that deep, why make things more complicated than they need to be? 🙂
