A penalty is definitely coming.
And honestly, it looks like Weber got caught in the crossfire too. π

Those barrels aren't gonna drop on a weekday, they're hitting on Sunday...
..all we can do is hope for some rain this Sunday, which looks pretty damn likely right now π

Just two Red Bull cars, two McLarens, Alonso, and mooooΕΎda Kimijev Lotus. Thatβs really it. No Sauber, no Maldonado, no Schumacher, no Rosberg.....
Forget "maybe"... this is basically a Lotus race unless we get hit by a literal monsoon tomorrow and Sunday.π>

Honestly, Iβm hoping Red Bull can hold their ground... though I have my doubts. I don't want a repeat of last year, watching Seb struggle just to get the car moving on Friday.
Ferrari seems to be wrestling with some serious understeer here. That new Williams just isn't clicking yet... they keep testing and testing, but I wouldn't be surprised if they revert to the old chassis for the race itself.
I'm crossing my fingers for a 3rd or 4th place finish tomorrow. That would be huge. Still, even grabbing 3rd feels like a bit of a stretch.

It looks like weβre in for a total washout this Sunday! A complete deluge is coming our way.

Anything could happen!
I wonder whoβs going to take the gamble during Saturday's qualifyingβsacrificing their qualifying position just to nail a setup that works for a rainy Sunday?
Will it be Mercedes? Ferrari? Or maybe Caterham? π
I have a strong feeling Sauber might pull that move. Or perhaps even Haas will beat them to it!

If this forecast holds up, weβre looking at either half the race under a Safety Car, or a red flag.
The drainage on this track is completely broken. Theyβre supposedly working on a new asphalt layer, but even with just a little rain during FP2, standing puddles formed all over the circuit. In one spot, water was actually streaming across the track.

The drainage at this track is a complete mess. It looks like they might be working on laying down some new layers of asphalt, but with that light drizzle during FP2, we ended up with standing puddles all over the placeβand in one spot, water was actually streaming right across the racing line.
With the heavy rain forecast, Iβm bracing for a repeat of the 2006 US Grand Prix. Honestly, if this downpour hits harder than it did back then, we might see even worse conditions given how poor the drainage on this track is.π
Everything will work out in the end! π + π

Ferrari is dealing with some serious understeer here; that new Williams setup just won't click. They keep testing and testing, but they'll probably just scrap it and run the old Williams during the race.
Hoping for a P3 or P4 tomorrow. That would be huge... though even P3 feels like a long shot.
If my read is right, Ferrari is going to tank, Red Bull will slip just a bit, and McLaren will basically have nothing left to fear.π€
Basically, it's all playing right into McLaren's hands.π³

Ultimately, this just plays right into McLaren's hands.π³
Because....

Because...
What are you actually basing these claims on? Have you even been watching their lap times lately?
Is this based on what those "new" upgrades were supposed to do?
What? Honestly, what?

Thatβs the US Grand Prix for you. If it rains, it doesn't just get wetβit turns into a lake.

Yeah, expect a complete circus. We'll probably just watch them struggle to set up tents on the start-finish straight again...
Who knows if those geniuses over at Sauber have upgraded their gear by now?
