Arthur Hill2 said:And what exactly made Billups so great? A player like that is usually poison for a roster—especially when you're shooting 36% from the field.

Don't be ridiculous—Chauncey Billups is a legend, one of the best late-game players out there. Sure, his shot might go cold for a few games, but when you need someone to step up in a crunch, he’s your guy.

Nicholas Chase34 said:23.5/LaMarcus Aldridge (Portland - Houston) over @ 1.85

One of the top power forwards in the NBA this season (alongside Love). Aldridge has been incredibly consistent; it would be a mistake if he didn't make the All-Star team.
I actually think his production should pick up even more in the coming days—given how he tore it up last season leading up to the All-Star break, putting up those 30 and 40-point games. Over his last three home games, he's averaging 32 points on 60% FG. Today's matchup isn't exactly a defensive powerhouse—Luis Scola and the Houston Rockets' interior defense shouldn't be enough to slow him down. Having the crowd at the Rose Garden behind him will definitely provide an extra boost.

👍

I completely agree with everything you wrote. He'd certainly hit that number, but I've decided to stay away from betting on individual player props this season. 🙂

Yeah, I remember that—after finding out he missed the All-Star cut last year, Aldridge went on a tear, seemingly dropping 40 points in back-to-back games just to prove a point. I suspect motivation will be high again tonight. Scola won't be able to stop him—LaMarcus has the height advantage, and with those long arms, he'll have the upper hand over the Gauchos.

Edit:

Just noticed Playmaker wrote the exact same thing about Chauncey Billups. 😁

By the way, Billups' experience in those high-pressure finishes is definitely going to be missed by the Clippers. Mr. Big Shot is undeniably an elite clutch performer who can secure a win when things get critical. 🤷 ☕

Look, the ball handling from Paul is solid. If you caught the last game against Orlando, you'd know exactly what I mean. They basically have Chris Paul for crunch time 🙂

I think I'll settle on this for tonight:

Chris Paul
over
Washington +7.5 total 3

Total odds are 3 🙂

Let me clarify my thoughts on Billups:

He is the kind of player who, when he's on, he is absolutely untouchable. But when he isn't, you realize just how foolish his shot selection can be—taking contested jumpers out of stagnant plays without any ball movement. I am well aware of his nickname and why he earned it. Don't get me wrong; I'm simply saying that this season, he has arguably done more harm than good for the team. Now, at least, he might finally step up and contribute as a leader.🙂

The Wizards are playing at home, but I don't know, they look a bit too shaky to me... then again, the New York City squad is looking pretty rough themselves... either way, the Wizards always seem to play better in their own building than on the road.
Gay... honestly, the guy scares me. He’s constantly hovering around that 20-point mark... whether he lands one more or one less doesn't even matter at this point.
Martin isn't in any kind of shape right now... I'll give you that. He used to be able to put up big numbers, but not anymore.
I'm calling the Heat to win... and the Clippers should take it too.
Memphis should pull it off... though Pekovic is looking like an absolute monster lately... but hey, they did just play Minnesota yesterday, so who knows.

I’m calling it now—Deron W. is definitely going under 23.5 points today. Morrow is back in the lineup, and honestly, Detroit has been playing some of the best defense they've ever had lately, holding opponents to just 19 points in 11 of their recent games. I also put some money on Washington to win and New York City to stay under 98.5. Hopefully, two out of those three singles hit for me.

"My back is starting to feel a lot better," Rose said at the team's Wednesday morning shoot-around. "I expect to be cleared for action tonight."

So, is Rose actually playing or what?
If he's sitting this one out, I’d put the Bulls under 95 points.

I mean, did you miss what Arthur Hill2 posted? He's saying there's a really good chance he plays.

Since it looks like Rose is probably going to suit up—his status is listed as probable, though some sources say it's a game-time decision, but if you ask me, he’s getting on the floor—I felt like I had to grab the Denga under 18.5. It's tough for any small forward to really go off against someone like Ariza, so instead of chasing an Aldridge over (which feels like one point too high for my liking), I decided to pivot to a player matchup. Personally, I think D-Will hitting 21.5 is a pretty realistic ceiling, especially since he tends to play much better when he's on the road. Honestly, if Memphis can't pull off a win against the Wolves without Love—who is basically their entire backbone for rebounding—and they're playing while tired, then they are seriously 🤷 cooked! ☕

Just wanted to weigh in on this:

One major reason for those better away games might actually be the Nets' home arena.

Yes, the arena—because both Deron and his teammates have complained multiple times (Deron most often, from what I've seen) about the lighting situation. Apparently, the lights are positioned poorly, shining directly into players' eyes during shots, which is a massive distraction.

Deron even mentioned he hates playing in that arena because of it. 🤣

I ended up taking Aldridge for the matchup against Deron 🙂.
Rose is expected to play, though he probably won't be at 100%. There's always that nagging worry his injury might flare up and force him out early, which is why my original, aggressive strategy was to bet the under. But well, looks like no Rose on the menu for me today 🙂

James Taylor3 said:Just wanted to jump in and add my two cents on this one:

Maybe one of the big reasons he's been playing so much better on the road is just the vibe at the Nets' arena.

Yeah, I'm talking about the venue itself, because it's not just Deron—other Nets players have complained a bunch of times too (though from what I can tell, Deron complains the most) about how the lighting in there is just straight-up terrible. It shines right into their eyes when they're trying to shoot, which is such a huge distraction.

Deron even mentioned that he absolutely hates playing in that arena because of it. 🤣

Yeah, I actually caught something about that recently—apparently Deron is super unhappy with both the look of the place and the overall atmosphere. Honestly, that might be why he's actually performing above his usual level when he's playing away games. 😍

Morrow said:“There is something about this arena, because it was made for hockey, not basketball,” said Morrow. “As a shooter I notice a lot of stuff. It’s cold. The background is way different. It’s like six miles back.”

🤣

New Orleans - Chicago
Pick: Chicago -9.5

Odds: 1.862

Betting shop: Pinnacle

Confidence: 7/10

The Bulls are one of the elite squads in the league—if not the best. They sit at 21-6, currently the second-best record in the NBA. They’re facing a struggling Hornets team that’s sitting at 4-21, hovering near the bottom at 29th in the league.
New Orleans struggles significantly on offense, averaging just 87.96 points per game; only three teams in the league score fewer. Meanwhile, the Bulls boast a top-tier defense that should give the Hornets a massive headache tonight. To make matters worse for New Orleans, they're dealing with a depleted roster due to injuries. Gordon has been out for a month—averaging 21.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists—but his absence still looms. They're also missing starting guard Jarrett Jack, who has been playing well with 15.8 points, 6.8 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game. Furthermore, they'll be without starting forward Landry (11.5 points, 4.4 rebounds), as well as bench contributors Smith (8.2 points, 3.9 rebounds) and Kaman (9.2 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.3 blocks)—though the Hornets are actually looking to move Kaman elsewhere, so he's effectively out of the equation regardless. Essentially, New Orleans is missing three starters and two key bench players, a group that accounts for roughly 65.7 points, 23.0 rebounds, and 10 assists. The Hornets have almost no depth left; their only reliable options available tonight are Ariza and Okafor. Ironically, Chicago’s defensive strength lies exactly at the 3 and 5 positions—where those two play. Even on the road, this handicap for the Bulls doesn't feel too steep to me. I expect them to stifle the Hornets' scoring; last season, New Orleans put up only 77 and 8 points in two specific matchups—and back then, they had Chris Paul and weren't dealing with this level of injury carnage.

As for the Bulls, there isn't much to say that isn't already common knowledge. They are championship contenders, Rose is returning to the lineup, they have deep rotation, they're in great form, and so on and so forth.

I'm expecting a comfortable Bulls victory—one that probably should have been a double-digit win based on the matchup.

Denver is currently dealing with some major roster uncertainty, missing Timofey Mozgov and Danilo Gallinari, while Nen, Arron Afflalo, Rudy Fernandez, and Corey Brewer are all hovering on the edge of being questionable.
I'm thinking maybe a couple of guys could step up here—does anyone actually know the deal with these players who are currently up in the air?

Does anyone here actually know what's going on with these guys? Any insight on their status?

Afflalo, Nene, and Rudy will likely suit up, so it’s really just Gallinari and Mozgov who are out.

And honestly, we won't miss Mozgov much given how well Kouffus has been playing.

It looks like Boldani are probably good to go—meaning they’re likely playing... 🤷

So, James Taylor3 had something to say about this earlier— 😬

Since they aren't even fully fit yet, if they don't reach 100% readiness by game time, it could really mess with their rhythm and overall performance 🤷

So, he shouldn't have any issues next year. Hopefully.

Anyway, here's what I'm looking at:

Wall over 16.5
Aldridge over 23.5
Howard over 22.5
Memphis - Minnesota (+7.5) 1

So, without thinking too deeply about it, I went ahead and backed this parlay. Good luck to everyone. 🙂 🙂 It doesn't really matter if we lose, because tomorrow is a brand new day. 🙂 😉 😉
