Nowitzki hit 5 at Half Time, so I'm just sitting here waiting to see if he keeps this pace up or if I should just call it a night and go to sleep

The Wizards are facing off against Minnesota, and while the Timberwolves have been playing pretty solid this season, they always seem to choke when the game gets tight in the fourth quarter. Their defense is honestly a sieve; if I recall correctly, they’re giving up nearly 100 points a night. The Wizards themselves are looking pretty desperate offensively, and most of the heavy lifting falls on young J. Wall. He’s basically flying solo without much scoring support from his teammates. Ricky Rubio and Luke Ridnour should be tasked with containing him, but I honestly doubt they can. The kid is just a different breed of athlete—easily one of the fastest guys in the league.

Orlando is heading out to face the Sacramento Kings. The Kings' coach recently got the axe, but despite that chaos, they managed to pull off a massive second-half comeback against the Bucks last time out. That said, they have a reputation for being absolute pushovers in the paint; their interior defense is non-existent. Since Dwight Howard is one of Orlando's premier players and their main leader, he's going to feast inside. I'm banking on him tearing up the boards and turning those offensive rebounds into easy buckets all night.

Now we’ve got these guys from Atlanta who can barely hit a three if they're shooting 9-for-12, and after getting smacked by Chicago following four free throws in the last two days? Please. I can't even get a win against Miami without Wade and James being out there. Don't give me that, man. 🙂

So, here’s what I’m chewing on for today... (honestly, I might just throw one of these into my sleeper bet too).
Washington +2.5 SS... looks like Minnesota is going to be without John Beasly, and I guess Barea's status is pretty much up in the air too—even if he does suit up, he probably won't be anywhere near 100% fit, so he likely won't be seeing any meaningful minutes anyway. 🤷 Maybe—just maybe—it’s finally time for the Washington Wizards to grab their first win.
I'm thinking Memphis might come in under 88.5—just a hunch, I guess. SS... I don't know, they've only played four games against visitors so far, and honestly? They've only managed to clear this margin once—and even then, it was barely a win against a Minnesota team that can't defend their way out of a paper bag. I mean, they put up 82 against the Spurs, only 64 against the Bulls, and then there was that Minnesota game... it's just hard to trust them to cover this spread. 90So, they put up only 85 against Utah—and that was the night Tony Allen and Pau Gasol were actually feeling it, too. Since Zach Lavine is likely sitting this one out tonight, I’m thinking they’re probably going to struggle to control the boards against the Lakers. Plus, their perimeter shooting is just... well, it's pretty rough, to say the least. I mean, they’re averaging about 91.7 points per game, which puts them near the bottom of the league, and with a 47% clip from two-point range and a miserable 21% from deep? Yeah, I really don't see them covering that spread. My gut tells me the Lakers (5:4) are going to be locked in and hungry for this win.
I’m thinking Pau Gasol goes over 16.5—maybe, I don't know, just feels right. Half Time... so, considering Al-Farouq McRoberts is out—if things don't turn into a complete blowout, we’re probably going to need more presence on the floor—and since Zach Randolph isn't in the mix either, I'm guessing Cunningham will have to step up and cover for him. In that kind of scenario, I feel like they could pretty easily push past this margin. 🤷
Portland -10.5 SS, HT... personally, I’d say they’re one of the absolute powerhouses when playing at home—though, honestly, that recent loss to Phoenix probably has them feeling pretty stung. They should pretty much dominate the Cavs across almost every position on the floor, so if you ask me, I’m expecting a total blowout here. 🤷
Yeah, I mean—here’s hoping we see another OKC win, even with that brutal back-to-back-to-back schedule. It's a tough stretch, I guess.
Keith Moore21 said:and the Spurs are playing on a back-to-back too 🤷
Someone might play this one for lower stakes
Memphis under
OKC
Portland
Washington (though I’d probably dodge that one, but hey, even they have to take a shot eventually)

Man, I’m looking at the board right now and I honestly have zero clue what to pick, nothing is jumping out at me... so maybe I should just rip off some of your ideas😬
plus the Spurs are on a back-to-back too🤷
Maybe you could play something like this for a smaller stake
Memphis under
OKC
Portland
Washington (though I’d probably skip them, but hey, sometimes you gotta grab a win when it's there)
stormyseal9 said:I mean, if that’s supposed to be some kind of helpful insight, fine... but let's be real, the Washington Wizards have already pulled off seven straight home wins against Minnesota.🤷
I mean, I’ve got a feeling the Spurs might end up with six unders against OKC. Look, obviously that's not a guarantee—nothing in this league ever is—but you gotta look at the context here. Even Kevin Durant hasn't really been playing at that elite level we're all used to seeing lately; he's actually dropped five unders in a row after that stretch of four overs. It's weird. Maybe Westbrook can step up and pull them through, who knows?🤷
analoghound21 said:I don't even know where to start with this mess! Are we seriously doing this right now? Is everyone just going to sit there and pretend everything is fine while things are spiraling? I mean, come on! It’s like nobody is even paying attention to what's actually happening on the ground! Does anyone care anymore? Honestly, it feels like we're just spinning our wheels in the mud while the whole world passes us by, and frankly, it makes me want to scream!
Hey, @stormygull7... what are you even yapping about? 😬
And then there's this—I mean, seriously, where are the legends? Where are the absolute icons? We’re sitting here waiting for greatness to show up, but nobody’s stepping up to the plate! If we aren't seeing that kind of superstar magic right now, then when exactly are we supposed to see it? Is anyone even looking? It's driving me crazy! 🤷
stormyseal9 said:I'm not exactly their biggest fan... more of a Boston guy myself.😍Back when Shaq was tearing it up, I absolutely loved watching him and his teams, but honestly? My heart will always belong to the Irish.😛
