I'm looking at picking up a joystick (like this one ) and I was wondering—if I only press the trigger halfway, will I get half throttle in racing games?
It's for my PC. I'd mostly use the sticks for steering, but being able to control the gas precisely is a huge deal for me.
Also, does anyone have recommendations for a joystick that actually handles throttle input well?
Thanks in advance!

Just a quick BUMP... I'm picking up a new joystick tomorrow... can anyone help me out with an answer?

Nobody can actually give you a straight answer on that gas issue unless they’re holding the controller themselves or happen to be on the board of directors at the company that manufactured that hunk of plastic. Seriously. Why not just ask if there's a trial period? Ask if you can test it out at home and return it if it’s a dud before you drop any cash.

I'm just wondering if my PC will recognize those buttons as axes when I have the joystick set to analog mode. Everything else seems easy enough to tweak in the game settings

If you’re actually serious about racing, just go grab a wheel. It’s honestly only worth the investment if you're playing something like Madden or FIFA and nothing else. ☕

btw, that's a controller, not a joystick.

Greetings to all.

I'm looking into picking up a joystick, but I'm a bit out of my depth here. I want something high-quality—something with serious precision for flight sims. Primarily looking at War Thunder, which is what actually convinced me to pull the trigger on this. Any advice would be appreciated...
