I'm not a fan. It all feels a bit too fast-paced for me. I find using my phone or Skype more practical in those situations.

Email is my main way of staying in touch; it just fits my rhythm better. That said, I still send actual physical letters a few times a year. There’s something really special about sending and receiving mail. It's a great feeling. πŸ™‚

To be honest, I think letters have a unique charm because we live in a world where, aside from signing our names, we rarely ever pick up a pen to write anything down. It's a little sad, but it's the truth.

boldseal9, if it isn't happening more often, then how can it be considered special? 😁

So, I exchange letters with a few people, but none of them actually live in the States. We stay in touch regularly via email, so there isn't much of a need to send actual physical mail too often.

I guess we've just gotten used to sending things during special occasionsβ€”birthdays, holidays, and stuff like that. But nobody seems able to just send a simple letter; it’s always some big package filled with chocolate and all sorts of random junk... Which means sending a single "letter" ends up costing me about $100. 😬

It’s probably better to take it slow like this, just so I don't go broke. 😁

I completely understand where you're coming from. πŸ™‚

I write much more frequentlyβ€”sending a letter about every other dayβ€”but I always stick to 50 grams. 😁

50 grams... πŸ€”

Enough to pack up three entire animal kingdoms. 😬

No, I get where you're coming from. If I were sending letters as often as you do, I'm sure I wouldn't be stuffing them with just anything all the time. They would actually be real letters, rather than just little gift packages. πŸ™‚

But, isn't there a double-edged sword here? Since you send letters so frequently, I assume you receive them just as often. Doesn't that take away some of the charm and that special feeling? I guess if they become such a regular part of your daily routine, maybe that "magic" starts to fade a bit.

Or maybe I'm wrong?

Not at all. πŸ™‚
First, I send letters that aren't strictly traditional correspondence; they are more like little extras included in various exchanges.
Second, neither I nor my penpals are so frequent that I would ever feel burnt out. 😁

My current balance is perfect. πŸ™‚ We will see how things evolve.
I have already cut back my sending by 40% due to budget constraints.

And yes, a maximum of three stickers per letter! 😁
