Best antacids for heartburn?

I have a quick question for anyone here who uses antacids... do they actually do anything, and what specific situations are they mostly used for?😕 thanks...🙄

Basically, these drugs lower stomach acidity by neutralizing excess HCl in your gastric juices. They also dial back pepsin activity. Their most critical role is managing bleeding from ulcers, so they're usually used alongside long-term anti-ulcer treatments.
As for whether they actually work—I can't speak to my own experience, but logically, they should.

It depends. My circle of friends—mostly medical professionals—tend to rely on antacids. It works for all of them, just not for me.
