Having issues with PDFs?

I am looking for some assistance here. Every time I try to open a PDF document, this error message pops up after just a few seconds. Does anyone know what is causing this and how I can get rid of it? I just want to be able to read my files without any interruptions.

So now, a book that should be maybe 100 pages is stretching out to 500. I’m dying to print it, but I don't want to just copy-paste everything into Word and shrink the font, because then the whole formatting goes to hell. Is there some other way to scale down the text and cut down the page count without breaking everything?

I'm not entirely sure about the font size, but you can actually trim down the total page count by using PDFsam...

With Adobe Acrobat, you can technically shrink the font size, but—and this is a big "but"—it doesn't actually function the way it does in Microsoft Word. It won't trigger a text reflow where content shifts from one page to the next; instead, you just end up with the exact same text sitting there on the same page, just in a smaller font.

Mind you, if you're dealing with a purely text-based book—something without any complex formulas or heavy graphics—the latest version of Adobe Acrobat (the full version, mind you, not just Adobe Reader) actually does a pretty decent job of converting it back into Microsoft Word.
