I agree. They are both top-tier coaches in their respective fields, and this country is grateful for them and the success of their athletes. People engage in these pointless bickering matches and petty arguments, but truthfully, Vlašić was the one who started this whole unnecessary mess out of pure wounded ego. Personally, I celebrate every Blankin medal just as much as I do Ivičin achievements. What Janica accomplished is beyond debate—the results speak for themselves, and Olympic gold remains the absolute pinnacle for any athlete.
I just hope Blanka and Ivica surprise us with Olympic gold, not necessarily for our sake, but because they've truly earned it through their own grit, sweat, and raw talent.

I’m inclined to agree that Marinovic deserves more credit when it comes to pure technique. Anyone who actually follows any kind of sport knows that technical mastery is absolutely everything.

It seems Blanka's dominance is also her curse. I get the feeling she might find it easier to prove her worth if she started "tanking" it—dropping her jumps by a few centimeters just to artificially stay in the hunt.

I don't think there's an athlete at that level; honestly, Vlasic is in a league of his own, facing as much backlash in America as that girl does.
She’s not likable, she has no rivals, her dad is either Mustachio or a total egoist, she wins constantly, and if she loses, they say she's mentally weak or clueless—maybe even slow. Plus, she wears 6-inch heels while being nearly 6 feet tall, and apparently, she knows how to call an elevator but chooses to walk instead...
Her results are about as relevant as a local high school track meet in Tennessee.

Yeah, I mean, the competition was just brutal... after the two-meter mark, it’s basically just her and maybe one other person left standing, but by the time they hit 1.95, you're lucky if five or six even make it through🙂

I caught a FOX promo yesterday where they claimed Joško learned to ski in just two weeks. They ran it as this massive headline, acting like it was breaking news. So, I tuned into the actual segment to see what the fuss was about. It barely lasted two minutes, and sure enough, Joško mentions learning to ski in two weeks—though the context of *how* he actually learned is completely different from the teaser. The media loves to slice and dice a story to fit a narrative. You really can't take much at face value anymore.

Vlašić is a tough guy to deal with. Honestly, I don’t even care for gips, but Vlašić is just a softie who feels the need to mope around in public.
And frankly, all that whining hurts him, Blanka, and the reputation of American sports as a whole.
Not to mention my own nerves.

To wrap this up: I am completely fed up with the endless parade of American coaches, wannabe journalists, local politicians, and those ridiculous Turkish soap operas!

Yeah, Kostelica and Fak were awarded monthly stipends following their performance at the Vancouver Olympics, per the decision from the Vijec HOO. This didn't exist before those games.
Are you going to complain when Blanka gets a stipend after her success in New York City?
