Blue line under the dot :O

Here I go again! I’m not panicking, okay? But this blue line just appeared under my thumb out of nowhere. 🙄
I've been scouring the internet... melanoma! 😳 I can't believe it! Is it really that simple!? I don't even remember hitting my hand 🤷—not that I can recall doing so. Just a thin blue line right in the middle of the nail, maybe 3mm... My God, what is happening to me? It's always something!!! Can someone please just give me some hope and tell me they've had this and it wasn't cancer? 🙂

I don't see the point in repeating myself, but I really feel like asking for medical diagnoses on a forum like this is, at best, incredibly unserious.
All I can offer is my own rough perspective or some general guidance, but ultimately, if you’re actually worried about something, it's on you to go see a doctor.

It’s run by this woman—she’s originally from Germany—who has over 20 years of experience and is actually a registered nurse. Honestly, it didn't even feel like a "salon"; it felt more like stepping into a small, specialized outpatient clinic! The staff is super kind and she really knows her stuff. She gave me a diagnosis after looking it over and the whole thing was sorted out so fast!!!!! So, if you can make it out that way... let me know if you want the number, because I'm a regular there now!

Lay it all out for her—everything you've read. Just don't mention you found it on some random website, because doctors absolutely loathe that.
Simply bring up specific symptoms or concerns you've encountered—doctors have a tendency to downplay things. If necessary, tell her a doctor friend or neighbor mentioned it to you—just play the part.

Is it really that hard to just say what the diagnosis was? Or does everyone have to physically show up at this place just to find out what they're dealing with?

According to her, it isn't dangerous. I just need to watch and see if it grows out with the nail. If it doesn't, she wants me to get a biopsy—just a little scraping of the area to run some tests. 🤷 Honestly, after everything I’ve read online, I’ve officially decided to stop searching for answers on the internet. I just can't help it; I spiral into a total panic and lose all control!
No matter what you search for, it immediately jumps to "cancer this" or "cancer that!"
It doesn't even matter now. For now, I just have to monitor it...

Well, I’m glad you checked in. Honestly, if you ask me, you can find just about anything on the internet—it's far too easy to spiral and freak out over absolutely nothing.
The points I brought up earlier were just a few examples, really—my main point being that when you start digging into symptoms online, you'll find a million different things ranging from completely harmless quirks to the absolute worst-case scenarios.
At the end of the day, your best bet is to just follow whatever your doctor advised. Good luck, and please, try not to stress too much. 🙂

Why not head to a dermatologist? They generally have more specialized insight than a general practitioner.
