For about a year now, I have been experiencing pain in my sternum area during stretching—specifically when rotating, where I keep my lower torso stationary while twisting my upper chest and shoulders. I also experience a popping sensation in that area, similar to the sound of cracking one's knuckles. The pain can be quite intense and uncomfortable, and it occurs when applying pressure inward on the breastbone. Initially, I didn't think much of it, but since the issue persists, I decided to look into it. It isn't constant; I might go several days without any discomfort before it returns. I haven't seen a doctor yet, though I suppose I should. I am curious as to what the potential causes might be. Thanks.
