I’m happy to offer an apology without dragging us back into the weeds.

Topic: Meta: Unfriending and scrubbing photos after a civil breakup.
Things were moving along nicely—we had a poll set up, people were actually engaging in meaningful discussion, and then, poof, the thread just vanishes.

Not a single rule was broken.
It wasn't locked, it wasn't moved to another sub-forum, nope—it was just wiped from existence.

Honestly, I can’t wrap my head around the sheer audacity of it. If someone feels personally called out by a topic, that’s on them; the whole point of the thread was to discuss the phenomenon of a former partner—someone you still communicate with civilly—suddenly deciding to delete all your shared photos and unfriend you on social media.

An explanation and an apology would be appreciated. They don't necessarily have to come in that specific order. 😉

So, I’ve been taking a look back at that deleted thread, and even though I wasn't the one who hit the delete button, I actually think the moderators made the right call here.

The poll itself felt a bit aimless, and honestly, the discussion wasn't really going anywhere productive 😁, plus the subject matter would have been much better suited for a different sub-forum.

And then, after all that, you still went ahead and started a new thread with that title

Listen, you fascists, what exactly was the reasoning behind nuking the thread?

In my opinion, you don't really have much ground to stand on for a complaint. You actually got off easy; if I had caught that immediately, you wouldn't just be looking at a warning for breaking the sub-forum rules—you'd be facing a full ban. 🙂

I feel like I need to vent about something. If someone decides to create a thread that doesn't strictly follow the subforum rules, then that thread stays right where it is. It’s that simple. If you don't like it, just scroll past. If the content is garbage, it'll eventually sink to the bottom and be forgotten anyway. Calling this censorship is a bit much—it's almost like we're dealing with fascists...

Oh please, go ahead and bring up fascism one more time, I'm begging you.
The subforum is going to run exactly how the moderators decide it runs, because at the end of the day, that’s literally what they're paid to do here.

If this were actually censorship on the level of fascism, you would have lost your head long ago. 😁 You honestly got off easy with the thread being deleted; you didn't even get banned. 🙂

... honestly, watching this kind of curation is just pathetic. It feels like moderators are just picking and choosing threads or posts based on whatever mood strikes them that day. I get that comparing things to fascists might be a bit much for some people, but it makes this supposedly public forum feel more like a private playground for a few individuals who have somehow hijacked editorial control. They’re basically handing out "justice" whenever they feel like it, completely ignoring their own rules. I'm talking about those instances where posts vanish without any explanation or actual logic behind it.

Let's get one thing straight once and for all—this isn't a public square. This is a private forum and things are going to go exactly how the mods (the mods, super-mods, and admins) decide they should go.

Thanks for understanding.
