dustypuma5 said:You received it formatted as DVD/CD. 😳
That works fine, though writing it backwards just doesn't make any sense. 😁

Honestly, I didn't even type "CD," so please, let's be fair here! I didn't put a slash before it or after it. 😳
(At least, as far as my memory serves me right now... 🤔)

So, I’m still totally confused about how I could have received it that way without sending it myself. It wasn't until I went into the received message and manually pulled out that little slash that I finally managed to send it. 🙂

Well, I guess I learned something new today! Who knows, maybe the forum will actually start behaving itself by the end of the day... 😁

Hopefully things get sorted out soon. 😁

Well, I guess hoping is all we can do now... 😁

When it comes to the sysadmins, we're just throwing ourselves into the lion's den on this 😁 thread

Matthew Johnson3 said:I didn't explain myself very well... I know 503/504 errors happen when there's heavy traffic...
Anyway, here's the screenshot...

I haven't touched that thread since the latest update went live... usually happens with most topics after an update like this.
All done, but still nothing showing up. 😢

Regarding this screenshot, that could easily be a 404 ('Not Found') error. That’s more likely an issue with your browser or your connection rather than the forum's actual server, since you see those errors on plenty of other sites too.

rustydrifter10 said:Maybe the forum will actually work properly by the end of the day, who knows... 😁

Doubtful. It's already starting to act up again. 😁

That's true, honestly, the only thing I managed to get working was sending a private message successfully. Other than that, it's just one complication after another. 🙄

But the weird thing is, this is only happening with the forum itself—everything else on the web loads perfectly fine. 😕

Yeah, well, if the issue is with the servers hosting this forum, 😁

btw, I occasionally run into an error 501 on the IT Help section.

I actually just ran into the exact same thing while trying to send a private message. 😁

😕

What did I do wrong? 🙂

Up until now, the only time I couldn't send a message was if I went a little overboard with the emojis. 😁

I finally got a reply and it worked! 👍

dustypuma5 said:If you have "CD/" written in that PM, just delete it. You're probably going to think I'm some kind of tech wizard now, but I promise I'm not. 😬

Thanks again, dustypuma5! 🙂

Yeah, I’m just sitting here trying to figure out what part of my last post was actually wrong. 😁
Honestly, who even gives a damn about this stuff anymore? 😁

So I grabbed CCleaner and ran a full sweep... I’ve already got Malwarebytes running too, and honestly, everything looks totally clean, zero viruses or anything nasty on my PC... but man, still absolutely nothing has changed!!

Wait, what are you talking about regarding Opera? 😕

is basically just like Firefox or Internet Explorer. Honestly, it's been my favorite browser lately.
Give it a shot, maybe you'll actually like it.

I've been sticking with Chrome lately, and honestly, it's great. 🙂
I used to rely on Internet Explorer back in the day (I still have it installed, though I haven't touched it in ages 😁 ), and since I had to use Firefox for work, I really wanted to have it at home too. But a friend of mine insisted that Chrome was much better, so they told me I should give it a whirl.

I think I'll download Opera and see if it grows on me.
Though, I'm a little worried about whether it'll actually work for what I need... 🤷

EDIT: Ugh, Google Chrome is failing to connect to that site... 😢

Seriously, you are such an absolute legend on here! 👋

Hey everyone, checking in via Opera! 😍
It’s acting a little funky for me and the forum was lagging again... so it’s definitely not a browser issue. 😢
I'm honestly not sure if I'll ever fully make the switch, though—I'm one of those people who is super attached to my old habits... 🙂 (which is just a polite way of saying I'm boring 🙄)

I used to rock Opera back in the day, and honestly, I'm back on it again now. Everything seems to be running pretty smooth
it just feels weird being over on this old-school forum instead of 😍

all the best 🙂

So, is the Reddit site working fine for you on Opera now? You aren't getting those glitches you were complaining about earlier, right?

How often am I supposed to be running CCleaner and Malwarebytes these days? 😕
I'm not sure if I should be using both with daily updates... just one of them... or maybe alternating between the two?? 🤷

@rustydrifter10/">@@rustydrifter10 - you running out of space on your hard drive? Or is your RAM getting maxed out?
Lately, my PC has been crawling at like 100 MB speeds, and it’s making even my browser feel sluggish. I’m using SRWare Iron, which honestly runs faster than anything else mentioned here, including Chrome.

I need to run a quick defrag and clear out some junk just to get the thing moving again. 😁

If it helps at all, that slow browsing could also be due to a weak connection from your ISP.
I'm with AT&T, and they seem to throttle my speed constantly. You should probably run a speed test to see what's actually going on.

Lately, my PC has been dragging like it's pulling a hundred pounds; even my browser feels sluggish, and that's saying something since I'm using SRWare Iron, which honestly runs circles around everything else mentioned here, including Chrome.

Just so you know, that slow browsing experience might actually be due to a weak connection from your ISP.

briskbison41, look, I really value you and I appreciate you trying to help me out, but honestly, half of what you just said is total gibberish to me... 😕

Honestly, everything's working like a charm. I just pulled all my stuff over from Firefox, and now Opera is my go-to browser. It actually feels a bit snappier too, if I'm being real.

Matthew Johnson3 said:Everything is running perfectly! I imported all my data over from Firefox, and now I’m using opera default. Honestly, I can actually feel that it's faster too.

So, I ended up downloading Iron last night because a dear friend here on the forum recommended it 😁, but then, at some point in the middle of the night—right before dawn—I suddenly couldn't get onto the forum at all. I guess I just overloaded it! 😍

Then comes this morning—though "morning" is such a relative term for me lately 😳—and I tried switching back to opera, but it just wouldn't work... So now I'm back on Iron, and I can't even get my email to open properly. 😕
Basically, the page loads, but everything looks blurry, and there's this big error box sitting right on top of it saying: "Some Gmail features have failed to load due to an Internet connectivity problem. If this problem persists, try reloading the page, using the older version or using basic HTML mode. Learn more." 😕
I try to clear the error away, but then my email won't function... then it starts working again... and it just keeps going in circles like that. 🙄

Is there any hope for me, or should I just head back to the 1900s, start writing letters by hand, and collect postage stamps instead? 🙂
