Simply tell one of your friends what your password is, ask them to go ahead and change it for you, and the whole issue will be resolved. 😉

Gary Williams47 said:See how it works, hollowtrucker77? People can come up with a million excuses—for some, those reasons carry enough weight to matter... but for you guys, it’s a massive drawback. Go ahead, take it up with the admin. And if he's actually a guy who listens, maybe try having a decent conversation with him... honestly, a little bit of that might serve you well someday.

Even when this stuff comes to light, the user was still active, so even if there were an option to just wipe the account entirely, it wouldn't change much. That said, I do agree they should add an option to deactivate—but without nuking the comments. It should work like those old legacy usernames that didn't make it through the database migration. Basically, the username gets blacked out, disappears from the member list, and won't show up in any search results, making it impossible to click through and see their history... but the actual posts remain visible and the original author is still credited.

I don't see how any of this helps anyone...

Gary Williams47 said:Honestly, this is just ridiculous... I actually asked to have my account deleted once before, but clearly, the priority here is padding the member count at any cost. I haven't encountered another forum like this where you can't even delete your own profile, let alone find yourself still hanging around after being banned. I really admire the professionalism over at that massive warez forum with millions of users—the mods there are actually decent. They talk to people, they help out, they ask nicely instead of just slapping you with a red flag or a ban without saying a word. They actually manage to do all that. Sorry to some of the moderators here, but some of you are just straight-up aggressive. For those guys, maybe try showing a little humanity and professionalism; if you did, someone might actually notice and hire you for a real job, and pay you well for it too. Jacob Foster11, don't go looking for yourself in my complaints.image

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa🤣🤣 🤣 🤣
Are you seriously comparing a warez site to this forum? 😂 😂 😂
That's like comparing a beat-up old clunker to a Ford.

Look, guys, it doesn't matter what the underlying tech of this site is... a forum is a forum...

And to the mods and admins, I’ve got something to say... this matters to us... and pay close attention to that word, *us*... that’s a word the moderators really ought to take to heart. Even if it's just a handful of us asking for this right now, don't go assuming there isn't a massive crowd behind the scenes wanting the same thing... why not just run a poll? Go ahead, give us some actual, heavy-duty reasons why this is such a huge deal for you that you're refusing to give us the option... look, you don't owe anyone an apology, those are the rules and end of story, but you're supposed to be here for our sake, and we aren't even asking for anything crazy...

Considering how many members you've actually got, you should be big in every sense of the word... but hey, "little guy," why not just step up and go all in?

Well, I guess I'll just give it back.

Anyway, what about that thing I used to see on this forum—where the username wasn't a clickable link and it just clearly said "n/a" underneath? Is that what Joshua Martinez7 is talking about? Why can't we do that anymore? Or if it was never actually an option, where did I see it then?

Wait, what happened to that thing I used to see on here? You know, where the username wasn't a link and just had "n/a" sitting right underneath it? Is that what Joshua Martinez7 is talking about? Why can't we do that anymore? Or maybe it never even worked... if it didn't, then why was it even on the forum before? I guess.

That was never possible, unless I guess some admin nuked an account—maybe unknown? I think they just wiped a user and all their posts from the database.

Those "n/a" things you see? It's mostly just old-school users getting lost during server migrations or software updates. Basically, when the database can't link a post back to a specific username, it just shows up like that because the system thinks the user doesn't exist anymore. But I guess all their other profile stats still stick around... maybe.

I mean, honestly, N/A isn't even about anyone being lazy or not caring... it's just because of all those technical glitches that went down. I guess.

Look, Google loves links. Sure, you could dig him up even if he was "deleted," but it'd be a hell of a lot harder—especially if someone’s using a common handle, some famous actor's name, or just a generic event. It's much easier when there's a direct trail.

I want to say something directly to the moderators and admins... this matters to us... pay close attention to that word—*us*... that’s a word that should actually mean something to the moderation team... and even if it’s just a handful of us asking for this right now, don't you dare assume the rest of the community isn't feeling the same way... run a poll... seriously... instead of just giving us a list of reasons why it's so vital to you that you deny us this option... you don't owe anyone an explanation—that's just how things work, end of story—but you are supposed to exist here for our sake, and we aren't asking for anything unreasonable...

Given the size of your membership, you really ought to be acting like a major player in every sense... well, "buddy," stop playing small and step up to the plate...

Gary Williams47, look, that’s just a call made by the forum owner at the top level.
I already told you that there isn't much we can actually do about it on our end.

I already told you, there's nothing we can do about it on this end

In this day and age, when some shop owner runs a business, he’s constantly drilling it into his employees' heads that the customer is king... or maybe it's a restaurant owner telling his staff that the guest comes first... but if you don't step up and tell him, "Hey, a few people actually want this or that," and then slap a poll in front of him with the results, well, then you're just sitting there doing nothing, right? If you actually show him what the people want, you might even get a tip or a nod of respect for being a proactive waiter...
but here, we just sit back and follow the hierarchy, I guess.

Even with all that noise they're making, the guy won't budge an inch unless he sees cash upfront, and he’s certainly not grilling burgers in some local grocery store
🙂
I hate to say it, but I think everything's been laid out clearly here, and now this whole thing is starting to feel like nothing more than petty haggling and gamesmanship

What can I even say about it... a shop like that is basically a ticking time bomb because the owner never even bothers to swing by and see if the shelves are actually stocked right... and you've got the competition out there fighting tooth and nail just to stay relevant... anyway, catch you later.
