Reddit should probably say something if passwords were leaked from their database, but as far as I know, even a superadmin can't see them since they're all encrypted.
So, I guess accounts get stolen when people infect themselves with keyloggers or whatever spyware, or maybe they just use their passwords on sketchy sites where the login stays saved on the machine.
Just clean your computers regularly with anti-spyware... there's free stuff out there like Malwarebytes, Spybot, or SuperAntiSpyware that finds junk on your PC. Just clean up after yourselves.
Also, maybe read what your computer is asking before you click "Yes," especially if you aren't on your own device—and definitely pay attention if it asks to save your password after you type it in.
And since everything starts with your email—like signing up for the forum or changing a password—you gotta protect your email login too.
Oh, and if you're clicking around porn sites, you seriously need decent antivirus, anti-spyware, anti-malware, and a good firewall.
And one more thing, Facebook screwed you over. 🤣
