Best software for extracting audio from video?

I'm looking for a way to rip the audio straight out of a video file. Like, if I've got an MP4 or even some old-school AVI or FLV files, I just want the music extracted. Any good software recommendations?

I use Handbrake for basically everything 🙂--it just gets the job done, you know?

For FLV, you're honestly top-tier (I feel like a lot of people don't even realize how good you are). Your FLV extraction is great because you pull it off without any recompression. Then you can just take that separate video into Adobe, toss in your own music, or even just layer some extracted audio onto your footage

Look, don't go beating him up just because he’s interested. If you're offering something, you should probably just tell him the price. Personally, I try to offer really solid solutions for pretty much anything, but I usually mean for free. I guess if you pair Avidemux with Adobe, you get an unbeatable, zero-cost setup. And honestly, the video and audio quality is pretty incredible, too.

Look, any decent video converter out there is completely free, and honestly, it gives him everything he actually needs 🤷

I’ve got this one video with some killer music in it, but I can't find the track anywhere online—at least, not yet. I'll try to rip the audio out myself.
