HELL YES! 👍
And honestly, Caribou is hands down the absolute king of this lineup.

Fair point, but his math still holds water. 😁 Even if the initial data is a bit wonky. ☕

🤣

Honestly, the opening acts were just boring. And I have no idea what the crowd in the front two rows was thinking, but that singalong during "Still Learning" was pretty pathetic. I’d go as far as saying he wasn't even there. The vibe was just rotten. Aside from the confetti and the balloons <3

I have to say, there was something truly special about joining in on that singalong. 😕

An abacus is more about logic than just counting numbers 😠

Here’s my best guess at the crowds: night one felt like maybe 6,000 people, but night two? Easily over 10,000! It honestly feels like everyone just spread out more this year—especially toward that third stage compared to last time.

For me, that third night was hands down the best Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival experience I've ever had! And you know, someone made a great point earlier—it’s actually a huge flex when you can chat enthusiastically about such a massive lineup (The Flaming Lips, Massive Attack, Caribou, Flogging Molly, Skindred, National Youth Poetry Contest). That kind of variety really shows how much this festival has leveled up, don't you think?

If they hadn't swapped out Caribou for !!!, I would've been absolutely loving the first night too... but let's be real, it was only ♥ Murphy ♥ who truly saved the day for me..

I don't know, I was standing further back near the beer garden, and honestly, it sounded terrible. You couldn't hear a thing. Actually, the whole setup just sounded worse than usual, I guess. 😢

So I could get to my beer faster. 😢

And because I was busy trying to stalk people from the local tech startup. 😢

Anyway, the B-sides were honestly pretty dull. And I have no clue what the crowd in the front two rows was thinking, but trying to sing along to "Yoshimi" felt super pathetic. Honestly, I’d go as far as saying it felt like they weren't even there. The vibe was just totally off. Aside from the confetti and the balloons, it was kind of a bust <3

A dead vibe at The Flaming Lips? Boring? Girl, where were you, hiding in the bathroom line? 🙂 ... Look, it's true that not everyone in the crowd knew their songs, but I don't think that really matters if you ask me. This was actually my first time ever hearing them live, so all I can say is 🙏🙏🙏 that for me, this was one of the most special, most cherished concerts I've ever been to... 🙂

And that was mainly because I was busy trying to keep an eye on the crew from BSS😢

🤣

You really should have joined us! Honestly, we had them dancing their hearts out at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.😁

But I will say, the singalong during I Can Be a Frog was absolutely wonderful.😕

You really should have been there with us. Honestly, we totally shut them down at Massive Attack. 😁

But man, the singalong during I Can Be a Frog was incredible. 😕

I mean, I don't know, maybe... 😢
We ran into Kevin and some girl, and this fan—totally starstruck—actually asked him, "😢do you want an autograph?😢

God, how can a group's favorite concert ever be a band they haven't even heard of, let alone listened to 😕? Either they've seen one and a half shows in their life, or they just FAKING love confetti. I really hope it's the latter.

Anyway, it's not like The Flaming Lips were all bad, but I wanted to point out how weird it looked from the side when you ignore the props. To be honest, I actually liked the band better before this Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival thing. Even though I wasn't exactly a huge fan. But hey, I guess I'm in the minority, lol.

Your friend has great taste. 😁

I can't say I was an expert or anything; I had listened to them a bit on YouTube leading up to the show, but honestly, the whole experience was just incredible. 🤷 They sound absolutely phenomenal live. I’ve been to enough concerts over the years to develop a bit of an ear for whether a band actually knows how to play their instruments or if they're just faking it. 😕

And I even ended up tipping one of those little indie kids 😳

Though, if I'm being completely honest, I still think LCD Soundsystem was way better. 😁

Actually, my comment about my favorite concert was referring to the post above yours. 😁

Look, I don't know. I've been to plenty of shows—bands I actually love, bands I pretend to like just to fit in, and bands that drive me absolutely insane—but this was the first time I felt genuinely let down by the actual music. Maybe I just got too distracted by Wayne's constant rambling between songs.

And those ridiculous, oversized hands at the end? Total nonsense. 🙂

As for LCD, yeah, that's a given. 😁
I guess what really gets under my skin is how everyone turned around afterward claiming The Flaming Lips were the highlight of Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
I saw that coming the exact second he started rolling around in that moronic ball through the crowd. 😠

(Though, if I'm being honest, the ball is pretty cool. I spent an entire day at Disneyland just watching people walk around inside it. 😢 :isus: )

frozentinker432 said:Seriously though, how can anyone claim their favorite concert ever was by a band they’ve literally never heard of, let alone listened to? Like, unless they’ve been to maybe one and a half shows in their entire life, or—let's be real—they just freaking LOVE confetti. I'm really hoping it's the second option here.😕

Anyway, I'm not saying The Flaming Lips were a total disaster, but I wanted to point out how much of a mess it looked from the sidelines once you tune out all the stage props. To be totally honest, I actually appreciated that band more before this whole Coachella thing happened. Even though I wasn't exactly a die-hard fan or anything. But hey, I know I'm probably in the minority on this one, lol.

I mean, look at Massive Attack when you're standing like 100 yards back or if the sound system is acting up—without all those crazy visuals and spotlights, the music just kind of... 🙂

Look, I've been to plenty of shows, so don't even go there...

Look, I've been to plenty of shows, not that it matters...

Personally, I think the band is great even with all that extra crap 😁, but hey, whatever, to each their own.

But my take? A truly good band should sound good without the fancy visuals, the lighting rigs, or a massive budget.

Okay, maybe not the lights. I guess lighting actually matters 😕
