Nancy (2010)

Another American horror flick, coming from the same crew behind "Executioner". Word on the street—though take it with a grain of salt—is that it hits theaters in Savannah on February 13th before they take it on a tour through some neighboring states. Plot-wise: student Nancy loses her mind after dealing with some serious injustice at college, where grades are basically traded for favors. She turns down a professor, things go south, and then the revenge kicks in. 👋 Pretty wild.

Nah, the premiere on Feb 13th isn't happening in Savannah, it's actually in Portland. It’ll probably hit Washington, D.C. around March 7th at NASA, but that date isn't set in stone yet.

Man, the crowd in Des Moines really proved they have a massive soft spot for trash cinema... the theater was packed! Right before the main feature, they rolled out trailers for 'Marlboro Man vs Zombies,' 'Last Drop,' and 'Zombie Dwarves'... and honestly, the audience went wild. You could hear people shouting from the dark like, "Oh man, I can't wait for this!" and "That looks awesome!" Then the movie finally started... it was a little slow at first, I guess, but then the bloody action kicks in and just doesn't stop until the credits roll! Just blood, blood, and more blood for a solid hour straight! People were actually cheering during the katana sex scenes and all the other weirdness this flick throws at you... and when it wrapped up? A huge standing ovation. It's pretty clear people here crave this kind of stuff! Hopefully, we see more directors and their crazy projects in Des Moines soon, because last night's vibe was just... wow. Total madness!! Maybe this could even turn into some kind of new little local festival?

Does anyone actually know what kind of budget they had for this flick?

Looking at these screenshots, the whole thing just looks super amateurish and honestly pretty rough, so I’m dying to know how much cash they threw at it. Just for some perspective, I recently watched Metallica, which only had like a $10,000 budget, and man, it looked incredible considering how little money was involved.

Oh, almost forgot to ask—has anyone seen a DivX version floating around online yet? ...I mean, I'd still love to give it a shot, unless I'm totally misjudging things and this is actually supposed to be a legit good horror movie.

I hit up the premiere and honestly, it was a blast—just pure, unadulterated chaos and good times...

, this thing is absolute garbage, though you have to hand it to the crew for actually trying; I have no clue how much cash they dumped into this disaster, but I bet Anthony Smith3 knows exactly what the damage was...

Yeah, the movie is definitely amateur and total trash, even though they had a pro handling the effects—Miroslav Lakobrija.
If you've ever heard of, or happened to see, movies like "The Machine Girl," "Ichi the Killer," "Attack Girls Swim team vs The Unliving dead," or "vampir Girl vs Frankenstein Girl"... then you basically know what's coming. Lots of gore, over-the-top violence, terrible acting, and yeah—it's all just one big joke. 😁.
The director, Sandi Mance, once told me what their budget was, but honestly, I blanked on it. I think it was somewhere between 2 and 5 grand... but don't quote me on that.
BTW, the premiere is happening in Washington, D.C., probably for free if I recall correctly... March 7th at 8 PM at Kset...

Got my hands on the DVD... gotta give credit where it's due. The whole thing looks legit... from the cover art to the start menu with the English and Spanish options, the main menu, and all those bonus features that are actually super well organized.

Bottom line... total pro job!!
