This movie is pure genius. Honestly, even though I’ve seen it a dozen times, it’s one of those absolute masterpieces you just never get tired of. I can't even decide who my favorite is—Hugh Grant playing that bumbling Prime Minister is hilarious, Bill Nighy is perfect as the washed-up rock star, and then there's Colin Firth, whom I just adore in pretty much everything he does. The way they weave all those different storylines together is brilliant. There isn't a single dull moment, and thank god, it isn't sappy at all.
It’s officially become a part of my Christmas tradition 🙂

This is just such a freaking feel-good movie that I honestly don't even know how to compare it to anything else... I've watched it a million times—my boyfriend actually told me yesterday, "hey, can you please stop spoiling every single thing that happens in the next scene 😠"—but it still puts me in such a specific 😍 headspace, which is why I love it so much. Yeah, okay, it's naive, god knows, but it’s just wonderful... it's funny, the humor is actually smart, it's charming, positive... I really think it manages to wake up the good in everyone 🙂

But honestly, that wrapping scene? It's absolutely hysterical...

Such a beautiful movie; it just wouldn't feel like Christmas without it. My absolute favorite part has to be the "to me, you are perfect" scene, though I also find the opening at the airport so touching—seeing everyone hugging always brings me to tears. And of course, that final moment where the little boy runs through the terminal is just wonderful. Everything in between is lovely too. 😍

Did you guys happen to know that the handsome guy who sang "All You Need Is Love" at the wedding passed away a few years ago? 😢

He carries this sort of edgy attitude the whole time. Almost makes him look sexy. Which, let's be real, usually isn't his thing.

For me, the best part is when Colin is practically begging that Portuguese woman in front of everyone, and then her sister just snaps at him, "Say yes, you idiot!" (or something like that...)

I find myself coming back to this movie every single year (even though I’m not really a Christmas person, let alone a fan of rom-coms).

Once everyone else started listing their favorite parts...

My take:
1. The best storyline is the one with Colin Firth and the Portuguese woman
2. The story about the kid and his stepfather... That one always gets to me. My absolute favorite scene in the whole movie is that conversation on the bench http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yO9yNFCt4M

...the other stories are nice, sure, but those two are the ones that stick with me.

And okay, maybe it’s considered "sappy" by some standards (though if you ask me, it isn't at all). It dances right on the edge without ever actually crossing over. Maybe the only parts where it leans too hard are the beginning and the end with the strangers at the airport. Honestly, I don't even count those bits as part of the actual movie.
The whole thing is just incredibly warm, without ever insulting your intelligence.

Honestly, the most ridiculous part has to be when Colin heads over to Amalia's uncle's place, and it feels like the entire city is following them just to get to the bar. But hey, even if that's wild, the sister and the whole vibe of that scene are still so good 🤣

Uncle: This American guy wants to marry you
Sister: I've seriously never even seen him! You'd really sell me off to some stranger?!
Uncle: Sell you? Please, I'll just pay him instead 🤣

It’s all wonderful and all, but honestly—the absolute peak of this incredibly simple yet brilliant movie has to be that cameo by Billy Mack on that one talk show...

Regarding that necklace... honestly, it doesn't even look like he's ever laid eyes on his wife.

My impression is that he starts off as nothing more than a total caricature—just one of those endlessly sycophantic, faux-polite salespeople. That scene with the necklace, for instance, absolutely grated on my nerves. But then, he resurfaces exactly when you least expect it, right when his role becomes genuinely necessary and impactful. He transforms from being a complete nuisance in that first scene into its polar opposite.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched it, and honestly, I could go for a million more... hands down the best movie ever made!!! 😍

The thing is, every time I bring it up around guys, I get "that look"... you know the one. Is there seriously no guy out there who isn't some total softie who actually enjoys this stuff?? 😢

p.s. No offense to the ladies (or anyone for that matter, since I know how that phrase sounds, but at least you get what I mean here) — I totally get why those types of guys love it. In fact, I’m actually kind of relieved that at least a small slice of the male population still has a romantic side... 🙂

You just have to remind them that there's plenty of nudity and some great women in the movie. ;-D

Such a great movie—honestly, it feels like only the British still know how to make a warm, heartfelt romance without it turning into total mush...

Almost 99 percent of the people I know who've seen Love Actually gave it a thumbs up, regardless of gender. For instance, back in high school, we watched it during an English class and the entire room loved it. Out of 30 kids in that class, only 9 were girls. So yeah.🤣☕

Besides, Liam Neeson had no clue the kid wouldn't be released at the airport, since they were expecting to meet him at the theater.

Totally agree... Love Actually is my absolute favorite too, and honestly, I could watch it on loop forever... it beats Titanic and pretty much everything else for me. Most movies starring Hugh Grant are pretty solid in my book... and I gotta add, besides Love Actually, I’m a huge fan of August Rush!

I’ll maintain my stance: this movie should be prescribed instead of antidepressants. I absolutely love it, but the more I revisit it, the more certain flaws start to grate on me:

1.) That subplot involving the little drummer boy feels a bit too saccharine for my taste.
2.) By the end, everyone at the airport is grinning ear to ear, blissfully in love—except for Sarah and Karl. She’s the one who sacrificed everything, spending her entire life caring for her ailing brother, yet she ends up without any romantic connection. Meanwhile, that obnoxious British guy manages to charm several American women just by leaning into his accent. Personally, I think the director threw that in as a deliberate reality check amidst all this sugary sentimentality. 😉
3.) There is a blatant anti-American undertone here. Given that the Italian Prime Minister and the French President struggle to keep their composure in real life, seeing the American President portrayed as such a pushover is quite telling. I suppose Americans are simply the easiest target for resentment. 🤷

Regardless, it remains one of the best feel-good movies out there. 👍
