Up-and-coming bands

I don't hang out on this forum all that often, but when I feel like talking—well, I post a little bit.
I'm back because I want to start a thread here that hopefully becomes a permanent thing, and I'd love to get as many people involved as possible. 😉

Basically, there are so many young indie bands out there just trying to build their careers,
but they really need more eyes on them. You know, so people actually hear their stuff,
listen to the music, and then spread the word to others. 🙂
I was thinking you guys could drop links (like MySpace, for instance) where you can find
info on the bands you want to promote, or maybe just write a little something about them yourselves. 😉

I'm curious to see what everyone else thinks about this, and I'm hoping the admin will be cool with it. 🙂

So, after seeing how those local demo bands around here handle their business, I’ve been thinking... maybe I should just offer to do all their covers, touch up their photos, design their posters, and handle all that other artistic nonsense and promo stuff for free? I mean, I'm faking being talented or whatever, but honestly, the stuff they're putting out looks pretty crappy..

Alright, look, they aren't exactly a full-blown band yet, but they're young. They go by Astrid. There’s actually a thread about that name floating around here, but nobody wants to touch it... Style is heavy rock with some prog vibes (and no, that doesn't mean it's just constant syncopation).

I'm really digging their sound—they've played a few small gigs already, and I honestly think if they just got some decent promo behind them, they could actually make it big. 🙂

But honestly, I really want to recommend this "Swedish tropical" vibe—there's this group called JJ, and I can't for the life of me find their MySpace page, but hey, I did manage to track down where you can listen to the song from Africa to Malaga. You just have to click on the large play button! 😁

Since there's already a thread for the 2009 forum vibe, let's keep this one strictly for local indie bands. Everything else belongs over there.

The band Oni, hailing from San Diego and Pittsburgh, are—let's just say
basically locals since they're from the region, total Americans through and through. 😉

They're part of that Demo band project over on CMC,
already shot a music video, and they're planning a little tour across the US once things really take off.

She Loves Pablo, they aren't really my style, but man, what a band. I've caught them live a couple of times and those guys are just pure energy and talent.

I guess there are some decent ideas in there, but the recording quality is honestly pretty terrible—like, there's almost zero actual production going on.

People know enough about them already: Puncke are totally off the radar. No talent, just a bunch of excuses. They've got issues... more than a few, actually. And they aren't even all that young anymore. 😁
