Burning sensation in my lower back?

So, my grandmother has been dealing with this absolutely brutal pain right under her right shoulder blade for about five months now...

It’s not even your typical aching either—it feels more like a literal burning sensation, like there's a fire raging under her skin. She’s gone through a mountain of tests and scans, but honestly, even her doctors are stumped and can't figure out what's actually going on.

I was wondering if it could be something like shingles, or maybe a pinched nerve?

Has anyone here dealt with anything similar, or does anyone have any suggestions on where we should turn next?

My mom went through something similar. The pain lasted about two months, but man, the nights were brutal! Total misery. Eventually, it just kind of eased up on its own. No amount of Advil or prescription meds did a damn thing. Nothing. Things finally started settling down once she started physical therapy, then it was gone completely. I’m pretty sure her lower back was pinching a nerve. Nobody could ever give her a straight diagnosis.
