How do I increase my post count?

I have been browsing this forum for quite some time now, yet my post count seems to have stalled at sixteen. While I maintain that such metrics are ultimately inconsequential, I find myself curious as to why the progression has ceased.

Can someone please explain why my post count is actually going backward? Like, just yesterday I was sitting at 29 posts, but I woke up today and it says 24... and that’s even though I’ve already put out over 60!

What on earth is causing this?😕

It’s likely just a moderator scrubbing entries they deem off-topic or slightly trollish to avoid handing out formal warnings, and since you spend most of your time in the politics section, you're bound to run into that kind of housekeeping quite often. 🙂

Yeah, I get where you're coming from and it makes sense, but if we’re following that specific line of reasoning—why bother counting posts on the Diet and Keto forum at all? You see people in there posting things like, "Heading to the bathroom now..." and it's basically the same thing. 🙄

I don't know, maybe ask the moderators why they're being counted. If you ask me, that whole system should be scrapped entirely over there 🙂

And "DIK"? What even is that besides a "milder version" of the lounge?

Or like the US section that only has four chat threads, where maybe ten forum members show up at most. It’s all just stuff like "good morning," "my head hurts," "local news," "what did you guys do yesterday," "I'm dying," or "I'm hungry." (Basically the closest thing to those random off-topic boards that get wiped once they hit a certain post count). And people rack up 10k posts on that garbage.
A few months ago, those US chat threads ended up moved over to the general lounge.
And what a panic! What an uproar! Everyone acting like it was a war to get them back. Because apparently, they're so "essential" to this forum. Imagine if someone registers via Chase Bank and sees that the chat thread is just a bunch of lonely losers in the general lounge—what would they think of this site?😁
And yeah, screw it, they lost most of their post counts.🤷 Luckily, even the moderator has most of her posts in one of those threads, so she fought to move them back to the US section. Total stroke of luck.
Take the off-topic section, for starters...

Bottom line: obviously, every single forum hits a saturation point and the quality drops. But it’s not our job to decide which ones stay and which ones go😬
Someone's "good morning" is worth more than one "pointless" thread in the Off-Topic section. That's what some people seem to think

I gotta say, I’m honestly stumped as to why CNN hasn't just moved this whole operation to an offline platform yet... I mean, look at us—we’ve got a massive crowd here with people hitting 15k or 20k posts, yet half of them haven't managed to string together more than a few lines of text in their entire lives. Then you’ve got the other side of the coin—the guys putting in thousands of posts where every single entry is a massive, thousand-word deep dive... it's such a weird dynamic.

Maybe we need a better way to track activity—like a weighted system or something. Maybe one-liners should only count for 0.25, medium posts get a 0.50, the long stuff counts as 1, and whatever the hell the ASR crew produces should probably be multiplied by 2.🙂
