Banned from the COVID subforum

I didn't receive some warning or a slap on the wrist—no, I was hit with a direct ban from the coronavirus subforum.

My gut feeling? This whole thing kicked off once I started calling out Djikić and his endless stream of falsehoods. Every single one of my posts—even if they were strictly about that gentleman's claims—was wiped clean immediately. And now, it seems I’ve been tossed out of the subforum entirely...

Does anyone know how long these kinds of bans actually last? Or better yet, can someone provide an explanation? Did I actually insult someone? Or has the coronavirus become a literal religion where we aren't allowed to question our high priests—Djikan, Rudi, and their little inner circle?

I’ve had my fair share of warnings for breaking thread rules, and honestly, I can live with that... it's part of the game. But now? You weren't warned because you clearly noticed several of your posts being deleted (since you commented on the deletions). Deleting content is a very clear signal that such material isn't allowed here. If a moderator has to keep deleting your stuff, they conclude there's no hope for that user.

Think of a deleted post as a yellow card—a warning without points for "unwanted content." The reasons vary widely, ranging from trivial or vague posts to simply repeating the same tired arguments over and over. It's bad content that disrupts the flow and makes reading difficult. Don't act surprised when things get deleted, and don't just repost what was taken down; try to reshape it into something useful instead. And never, ever try to belittle someone else in an argument.

The suspension period is indefinite. If a user wants back into the subforum, they have to convince us they understand where they went wrong and promise not to disrupt discussions anymore.

Good question. I appreciate you asking. 🙂 It’s too much to pack into one post. If the Ban wants access back, they’ll clearly have to talk to someone.

We aren't heartless. We believe in change and giving people second chances, so we're quick to accept a sincere plea. That happens. It isn't just a theory. If we realize we messed up, fine—we'll fix it.

Interesting enough. I won't pretend to be an expert on everything those economic analysts have ever published, but from what I've gathered, there wasn't any blatant profanity, trolling, or unnecessary provocation, so it makes me wonder why you were the one singled out for being banned from that subforum.

It strikes me that there are plenty of other people who consistently lower the quality of debate over there, though they all seem to be on the "right" side of the aisle, which is probably why they get away with whatever they want.
