Height requirements for fighters

Is it actually possible for a shorter fighter to step up into the heavyweight division to take on guys who have a massive height advantage? I mean, could someone really make an impact regardless of how tall they are... I’ve heard some talk about there being specific regulations regarding height requirements, not just weight classes, but I wasn't sure if that was actually true.

Mike Tyson was about 5ft 10in, which is considered "short" for a heavyweight.
Butterbean stands 5'11" and weighs around 400 lbs, yet he was more than capable in the ring...

Why the hell wouldn't they?
Mike Tyson wasn't even that short—he was standing at 6'0".
The whole deal with height is just that you get more reach and can strike from a distance, sure, but those tall guys? They usually struggle with coordination and being quick on their feet.
If you know how to exploit that weakness, having less height becomes a massive advantage.

Even Mark Hunt was short for a heavyweight back in his K-1 days, and he was definitely one of the shorter guys fighting in the UFC🙂

And yet, nobody seems to have brought up Tim Randleman, who stands about 5'9" and fights in the heavyweight division; when he secured that knockout victory over Filipovic, if I recall correctly, he was weighing in at around 240 pounds...

Look, Mirko never stepped into the ring against anyone weighing 240 lbs. His max was maybe 230 or 235, usually hovering right around the 220 mark.
That’s exactly why Randleman is such a nightmare. He's a total ticking time bomb. You just never know when he's gonna blow up and catch you off guard.
