I've read all the books, so I'm curious to see how they handle the adaptation when it hits theaters.😍😍

I think I finally found the right thread for me😍....
So, a coworker of mine—who’s just as much of a Shopaholic fanatic as I am—and I were scrolling through some stills from the premiere yesterday, checking out the cast and everything. We both decided we can't wait for the movie to drop (late February, if I recall correctly), but we’re already bracing ourselves for the fact that they probably changed a ton of things from what we imagined.
Honestly, I think Isla Fisher is the absolute perfect choice for Becky, even if they did dress her up a bit too much in that Carrie Bradshaw style. To me, Becky isn't quite *that* eccentric when it comes to her fashion sense.
And moving the setting to the USA? That’s where you lose a good chunk of the vibe for me...
Plus, Joan Cusack and John Goodman playing Becky’s parents? Come on, really?.....😲
As for Hugh Dancy playing Luke Brandon? I would have gone with Colin Firth in a heartbeat (though, let’s be real, I’d choose him regardless)😍.
My friend and I have already mapped out our big outing: we’re hitting the theater on the very first Saturday it opens. The plan is to hit the shops first, grab a quick bite to eat, and then head straight to the cinema, each of us clutching a few little shopping bags. 😍

Me too. When I found out they filmed it in New York 😲 it was a total disaster 😢
I have no idea how they came up with this, since the whole plot takes place in London, and then in the sequel she goes on a trip abroad—meaning New York. It just doesn't make sense...

But I won't say anything more. Hopefully, it’ll be good. I can't wait 😳

I've practically devoured every single book in the series, so now I’m just sitting here praying they don't totally butcher the movie adaptation.

So I finally watched the movie today. It wasn't like I was counting down the days until Thursday or anything, but still 😁
I was actually pretty nervous about it. The cast felt a bit off, and since the whole thing is set in New York, I wasn't sure what to expect... but it totally blew me away. I laughed, I got chills... it had everything from heavy moments to hilarious ones. Honestly, I'm still processing how good it was 🙂

Even though they strayed from the book, it stays true to its own style and is just phenomenal.

Isla and Hugh completely outshone Becky and Luke. They were fantastic 😁

I have finally worked my way through almost the entire series, including all the adventures of Confessions of a Shopaholic, though I still haven't quite gotten around to reading "Confessions of a Shopaholic and the Baby."
I honestly find these stories to be absolutely wonderful. 👍
I am planning on heading out to catch a movie later today.
However, I can't help but feel like they took quite a bit of liberty with the source material when they adapted it for the big screen. 😕

Yeah, they definitely changed things. It doesn't follow the book perfectly, which is my only gripe. 🤷
Otherwise, I loved the movie. 😁

The movie is definitely worth a watch! It’s a bit of a departure from the book, though, so I felt a little lost during certain parts... 😁
But hey, it was honestly so good 😍

I actually really loved this movie. 😍 I was honestly a little worried at first that it would be a total disaster, but it turned out to be surprisingly good. 😍 Huge props 👍 for the casting choices here. 😍

That was an absolutely fantastic film! I truly enjoyed every minute of it. 😍

I caught the movie yesterday, and honestly, I thought it was alright—pretty much just like the books. I mean, I couldn't really take my eyes off her hair, though... it looked absolutely incredible! 🙂

Also, I'm pretty sure there were at least ten guys sitting in the theater. That actually surprised me quite a bit! 🙂))

I’m totally obsessed with the books, honestly. They actually nailed the first two parts in the movies—like that bit where she was selling her stuff at the end, or when that massive 50% off sale happened. But they definitely messed with some scenes, though... you know, like that whole confrontation over morning coffee or the Glory thing, how 😬

whatever, the movies are cute enough, I guess, but reading the book is just such a bigger experience. You get way more laughs when you're reading 🙂

Why on earth would you be surprised that guys were lining up to see this? Honestly, I picked up the book myself and was totally hooked. Now I’m just counting down the days until the movie hits theaters... The book actually gave me a good laugh. 🙂 My wife grabbed it from the local library, told me I should give it a look, and before I knew it, I couldn't put it down until I finished the whole thing. 🙂

So, I guess it's my turn to weigh in... My boyfriend and my friend’s brother just rolled their eyes the second I mentioned that movie—let alone the book. Though, I have to say, my guy totally caught me off guard when he surprised me with the sequel for my birthday since I've been dying to read it. Honestly? Such a sweetheart.

I haven't really been reading much lately, but I definitely want to start again👍

It was a sweet little movie—a decent comedy that wasn't nearly as irritating as most of them. I actually found myself laughing out loud a few times. The outfits were stunning 😍, Isla Fisher was charming, Hugh 😍 😍 was great, and K. S. Thomas was excellent.
Overall, it's worth a watch.
