Æ.
It’s not bad, but there's certainly room for improvement 🧐

gentlepuma20 said:That’s just not true at all, kid; you really ought to get out into the city more often, because we have some incredible bands performing around here...
Name just two! 🤣
( I bet he's going to mention "Elvis Presley" next 🤣 )

Perhaps a trip back to the countryside is necessary, as this city feels as lifeless as a fallen horse...

There aren't enough cookies to match the number of vampire hearts 🤷
A mix of messianic fervor and the lush green lawns of the suburbs is a perfect recipe for eternal life.

Actually, let's go beyond just two—let's look at two you could actually watch pretty soon:
Senator Fox (though maybe stick to Mexican Roll 😁)
Peaches

We have some truly incredible bands around here—gentlepuma20 actually put together a decent little list earlier—but if you ask me, what’s really missing from the scene are those polished, pure pop acts... I could easily bring up Marshmallow, but then I'd just look like I was playing favorites with my own friends, wouldn't I? Still, one can't ignore the facts. 🙂

My Bloody Valentine. Mad Men. What should I wear? The rebels—they’re alright. The girls are fine. Rock Flock is cute. Cinema Club has potential... to be really cute 😁 and so on.

Haven't they rebranded already? Honestly—I wish they'd gone with something like "The Go Kids"—it would make them seem so much more charming! 😉

Senator Fox (but keep an eye on that Mexican Roll 😁)
Peaches
If I were ten years younger, I would have ended up in the Senate. And all those diversions too.
But as things stand, there is nothing left!
Now, Peaches are fantastic, but they aren't really what they used to be... well, they were, then they broke up, then they reformed, played a couple of shows, and now they seem to just be floating in mid-air. I truly hope I am wrong about that.
Still, I find them (in my humble opinion) overshadowed by the Mexican "Virvel" and that legendary, non-existent masterpiece, "Land No. 9"...

"Cinema Club" refers to those total flops I heard playing up at Vail during a break in the men's slalom races at what we call "Potato Hill," performing some "hit" about a "snow queen."
If they are who you mean, then they are absolutely dreadful, utterly defeating, and I sincerely hope they just hang up their guitars for good. In other words, let them stay buried under the snow at "Potato Hill" forever.

😬
Right there with you at the concerts in SC—pardon me, I meant KSET.

I have to admit, I haven't heard much about any of them, but I find the whole thing pretty intriguing. For instance, here in the States, that kind of folk music and those pop divas—you name it—are huge, even though the genre actually traces its roots back to Mexico. I’ve heard that over there, people lean much more toward rock and similar styles, which seem to hold more sway than the pop stuff. So, if a few bands have started leaning into that rock sound, why not? It feels like there’s at least some lingering desire among folks from the old region to recapture those legendary, classic WAVES.👍
