yo, I’ve got a bit of a situation here.. anyone got a fix??
I'm all ears...
So, basically, I’ve been hitting the basketball court pretty hard lately and everything is going great, except
my knees keep making this weird creaking sound. It honestly feels like I'm 100
years old and my joints are already shot... does anyone know a
perfect way to deal with this? Seriously, hit me with anything 😁

And my bad if someone already posted about this...👎

Man, I feel you. I’m dealing with the exact same thing. I play a ton of basketball too, and my knees have been absolutely killing me lately. I actually went to see an orthopedic specialist, and he told me it looks like some cartilage damage. He was saying that when you're in your late teens or early 20s, that cartilage is still basically hardening or whatever, which makes it way easier to run into these kinds of issues. I’ve got an X-ray scheduled for later this week, so hopefully, once I head back for the follow-up, I'll finally have some real answers.

wow... alright then, just keep me in the loop... because at this rate, I'm gonna end up needing a trip to the doctor myself

I’ve got a slightly different issue here... I have this massive, glaring scar on my knee. I really want to get a surgeon to go in and excise it. Can anyone point me toward a good specialist or give me a ballpark idea of what something like that would cost?

So I just got my scans back and they’re basically telling me my bones are thinning out near the medial condyle, there's some subchondral sclerosis on the joint surface, and the intercondylar eminence is starting to flatten... basically just all the classic signs of knee osteoarthritis.

Can anyone actually make sense of this medical jargon for me??

Honestly, you’d be better off just asking the actual doctor who gave you that diagnosis to walk you through the translation. It could mean absolutely anything—we're talking anything from a serious medical emergency to just some minor misalignment in your knee, patella, or joint.

Man, I’d love to ask him, but the orthopedic specialists over in Santa Barbara have me booked out until summer—they sure move slow... I’m heading up to Newport next week instead, though. All I’ve got is an X-ray, and even getting the referral for that was a nightmare...

Hey everyone, I’ve been getting into recreational running for about three years now, hitting the pavement every other day for roughly 53.7 miles miles per session. Lately, though, whenever I go to fully extend my leg, I hear this clicking sound in my knee. What’s the deal? Should I be worried? I have a hunch it might be my trainers—it feels like they've lost their cushion after all that heavy mileage... any advice?
I don't have any other health issues, nothing with my joints or anything else...

I noticed recently that my knee makes this clicking sound whenever I’m walking up stairs—kind of like when you crack your knuckles. It doesn't happen when I'm heading down or just walking normally. There’s zero pain involved; it's just the noise. If this is actually a sign of something serious, should I be rushing to see a doctor right away?

Man, I’m right there with you on this one. I spent a solid year absolutely hammering my legs at the gym, just going all out, and after about twelve months of that grind, I started hearing this weird clicking in my joints, plus this constant pressure in my knees. It was super annoying. Since I stopped hitting the heavy weights, that pressure has mostly cleared up, though I still get an occasional click here and there every now and then. I honestly think it might be some wear and tear on the cartilage, so these days I stick to mobility work and stuff to get the blood flowing back into the joints—like doing those cycling motions while lying on my back.

As for all those other aches and pains you get from crushing it in the weight room, I've actually found that some specific moves from a certain yoga system really help take the edge off.

Just wanted to jump in here and add my two cents.

The whole thing really comes down to how much you're bending the knee. If the leg is mostly straight, you actually have to bend it past, what, 90 degrees before that clicking sound even shows up. Plus, once the muscles are warmed up—you know, after you've been hitting the gym for a while—the noise pretty much disappears entirely.

So, even with those exercises that feel like you're pedaling a massive cruiser bike, you’ve got to go through that full range of motion, from max extension to deep bends, to really feel it.
