Serj was incredible. The energy was electric—he and the rest of the crew really gave it everything they had.

But Prodigy? A total disaster. Just a complete waste of my time and the organizers' money.
Seriously, what's the point of dropping that much cash just to have some amateurs show up and barely play a 45-minute set? No thanks.
With the amount of money they threw at those useless hacks, the organizers could've booked someone like Incubus, or honestly, even Foo Fighters.
It’s not even about the specific names; they should have brought in a band that actually treats a headlining slot with respect and plays for at least two hours.

Prodigy played for about 80 minutes—just to clear up any confusion (that's 12 tracks). But how long did Serj actually go for? Was it 60 minutes or even less?
And honestly, Serj managed to keep those roughly 150 people engaged, and it wasn't just through the music... he kept them hooked with those intense sociological and political takes he kept dropping after every other song.

What kind of delusional eighty minutes are you talking about? What exactly are you even looking at?

They barely started their "set" after 11:00 PM and wrapped things up by 11:45. I’m sorry, but there is absolutely no way that was eighty minutes.

And Serj could barely play for an hour because he had to cut the setlist short thanks to these—I repeat—impotent idiots. It was obvious they didn't have enough material on their backing tracks, so they just shrugged their shoulders indifferently and walked off before forty-five minutes were even up.

I don't know, I certainly wasn't standing in the front row at 9 PM yesterday.
God, where on earth was I?? Now I'm starting to worry the whole thing was just some fever dream...

I don't know about you, but I was right there in the front row since I was 18.
Well, damn. In that case, I think it makes sense why you'd be a little intimidated.

Overall, I had a blast! Only downside was the rain, but we were camping in tents so we didn't get too soaked. Cave was definitely the highlight for me, plus the atheist rap, Tinariwen, and Let3 were killer too.

Cave was solid. I wouldn't say it was absolutely mind-blowing, but it was definitely good—actually, really damn good.

I was there both days and honestly, everyone was great. Some were better than others, sure, but I live for that variety. I’m super happy with how the whole festival turned out and the lineup was solid. It’s funny, though—the lesser-known bands actually caught my ear the most... those guests from Africa totally blew me away! The only downside was the mud, which kind of killed the vibe, but you just gotta push through it.

Fine, I'll throw in my two cents too.

Day one of the festival;

Nick Cave was killer. We missed maybe two songs because we were stuck waiting for the rain to let up. Cave was a solid 5/5 👍.

Let 3 was awesome. They really blew me away.
Meow-meow, woof-woof, 5 stars. 😍

Day two;

I got soaked to the bone just walking to the bus stop.
Once I got home, I changed and hit the road again. Thank God my guy drove us all the way back to Central Park. 😍

Sergei was great, seriously. Sure, there wasn't a massive crowd at his set, but the guy has the voice and the charm. A straight 4 out of 5!!!

We caught a few Stereo MC's tracks... not really my vibe. But man, the crowd for them was absolutely insane. No rating from me.

And finally, the one and only The Prodigy. For me, they were the absolute highlight of the whole festival.
They absolutely crushed it. I nearly "lost" my youth during Voodoo People 🤣, but
they totally wowed me. 5+ stars!!!
They even did an encore. They didn't just walk off stage like the newspapers and radio stations claimed. A straight 5, actually could be a 10!!!

Anyway, regarding the organization—fuck Budweiser. Seriously. I mean, I'm not going (exclusively) to an event like this, but I still want to drink something that isn't basically water with traces of beer...

To be fair, I didn't dehydrate during the morning, so I'll give them credit for that. 😁

Besides, just when I thought Cave (Kuala!) couldn't get any cooler, he plays Stagger... absolutely killer.

And yeah, they realized at one point the crowd wanted to chant "one more song" or something similar, but since we couldn't even agree on a language or a "vibe," it just turned into those primitive vocal outbursts? 😁

Sure, they might actually know how to pour it there so you aren't stuck drinking three rounds of pure foam, but regardless, I was genuinely pleased to hear the "I'm driving, so I'll just have one" routine🙂

Some guys tried to jump me because others were shoving me around, and since I was hammered, I ended up face-down in the mud. They hauled me up just to deck me in the nose five times; I had blood leaking from it for a while after. I eventually just wandered off on my own and watched "Smack My Bitch Up" from a distance—it was quite a sight.

I was a total mess, covered in grime, so I just drifted around for a bit. In one tent, it was all "let's go party with candy," and in another, people were messing with phones, acting like "let's dance now and grab some beers later." The only thing I actually caught was Voxx at the end, which was mediocre at best. Once I finished wandering, things got pretty dull, though don't quote me on my judgment of the situation—my grasp on reality was pretty much non-existent at the time, possibly because the beer I was drinking was actually potent.

I will say that I had a wonderful time. My only regret was not catching more performers, though that was really just a matter of my own poor scheduling. 😬

In short, seeing Cave, Tankian, and The Prodigy left me feeling happy and satisfied.
Nick was absolutely captivating. 🙂
Admittedly, Sergei could have talked a little less between sets, but when someone is that passionate about their craft, you have to let them be. It only adds to his charm. 😍
As for Podrigny (c), I was worried they might have lost their edge, but they still have plenty of life in them. 😁

Even though we ended up covered in mud like pigs, I honestly don't mind getting dirty at an event like this.
The campsite was cozy, the tent was small, and we managed to stay dry enough.

As for everything else—well, I either missed it entirely or just couldn't bring myself to care. There was one glaring exception, though, which was The Go! Team—though I did end up being a bit late for them. I also managed to miss the first track (or maybe even the first two?) from Hot Chip, and the opening few songs—three? Four?—from Sons and Daughters.

On the bright side, I didn't get too hammered, nor did I get too rowdy.

The technical organization felt a bit more polished than last year, I suppose, but the musical scheduling? Much worse. It honestly irked me that the gap on the main stage between S&D and Armenca stretched on for over an hour. And S&D felt far too brief. As for the performers themselves, I'm not quite sure what to make of them—it almost feels as if the lineup hasn't actually leveled up since last year. Though, mind you, my priorities have shifted; last year I was dying to see those two headliners (SY and !!!) along with a "smaller" act like The Hold Steady, whereas this year, I was much more focused on the afternoon sets (The Go! Team, Hot Chip, Sons & Daughters) and perhaps less invested in Cave.
