March 17th is coming fast. I’m expecting at least 2 or 3 big headliners by then, otherwise this whole festival is going to be a total bust.👎

State Fair—who from that list actually has a shot? Give us the scoop before people start regretting those tickets they already bought.

They run through March 17th—or whenever they sell out! 🙂

The festival actually has a website
you can check.
😢Honestly, you guys are being so irritating! This unprovoked bashing of the festival—and people actually signing their names to posts like this—has been tasteless for a long time now. This isn't some random chat room, you know? Seriously, just go to Lollapalooza or whatever you think counts as a real festival with actual good music and fun, if that's even what you're looking for. I don't know how pathetic > has to be to come here just to vent without naming a single specific thing or offering any real critique. Get it together! Just let us enjoy ourselves and spare us your "intellectual" commentary... ☕

Look, festivals have a specific vibe and a target audience. If it’s not your thing, I don't get why you feel the need to just trash it...

If you bought a ticket blindly, honestly, that's on you. Nobody forced you to do that.🤷

Honestly, you guys are a strange bunch. I can't believe it.
It seems like you take offense if someone admits they don't like this band, yet you have no problem praising anyone else.

Do you even understand the point of this thread?
Look, I pretty much dislike almost every band on this list. There are maybe two I wouldn't mind seeing, but that’s not enough to justify buying a ticket.
Go ahead, try to offer something constructive instead of this:

I can already see how this goes. The first three posts will be flame wars, then a few people will start begging, "Oh please, just book Porcupine Tree!" followed by some guy saying, "What a genius lineup," and then someone else says, "Massive Attack is garbage," and everyone jumps on them because, clearly, they're the biggest jerk in the group.
Congrats.

I’m just feeling a bit frustrated. We’re barely three months out from the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, and the lineup feels incredibly thin right now. It isn't even about who they picked—it's just the sheer lack of names.

You have to realize that the T-Mobile US Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is seriously falling behind its competition. Most major festivals happening around the same time—you know, during June—have already finalized their lineups and had them posted on their websites for ages.

That’s what’s bothering me. I honestly don't get why everything seems to be moving so slowly here in the States this year.

I honestly don't get why people can't just speak their minds. Compared to last year's lineup, this is actually pretty mediocre; most of these bands were just playing everywhere recently, while others struggle to fill even a small club in Chicago. Say whatever you want, but when you factor in the ticket price, plus the cost of drinks and food, let alone travel and hotels if you aren't living right here in Washington, D.C., it adds up to a massive amount of money. People want at least two or three headliners that actually carry some weight and mean something. So, the criticism stands. At this rate, I doubt they'll pull in more than 4,000 or 5,000 people. Though, if I'm being honest, those attendance numbers from last year—those 15,000 to 20,000 figures—felt incredibly inflated to begin with.

Man, seriously. Is there any chance I can still snag some tickets somewhere? I’m running a little short on cash right now, so... maybe something in the $250 range? $100

exactly that. the whole thing is a festival meant for names like that.
Massive Attack, sure, but they just played. then some new punk kids. then some guys I've never even heard of. !!! they also played recently. no connection there.
last year for $83 I saw Moby. he's a legit name. I don't listen to Lily Allen, but whatever, she was "trending" back then. Kraftwerk—total legends. And Father John Misty—I mean, they played two years ago, but they were still good.

if I were to drop $100 for this, then factor in the trip to Washington, D.C. and back, insurance, drinks, and then dealing with everything else on a weekday... no. no. no. no.

whenever I think about it. on New Year's Eve, I head over to the Mall of America acting all important to buy a ticket. while I'm waiting in line, I'm scrolling through my phone and see on Facebook that those tickets sold out like thirty minutes ago. man, I really messed up there. hehe

well. please, go ahead and tear me apart.

Massive Attack was there, sure, but then you have some new punk kids, or people I’ve literally never heard of in my entire life. !!! It’s all over the place.
Last year, for $83, I saw Moby. Now, he’s an actual household name. I don't exactly listen to Lily Allen, but fine, she was "trending" at the time. Kraftwerk—absolute legends. And Foster the People were there two years ago, and they still delivered.

If I were to drop $100 on this particular mess, considering the trek to Washington, D.C. and back, paying for drinks, and dealing with the fact that it's a weekday... no. No. No. Absolutely not.

I can still vividly recall it. On New Year's Day, acting like a fool, I headed down to the Mall of America to grab a ticket. While I was standing there waiting in line, scrolling through my phone, I see on Facebook that the tickets had sold out just thirty minutes prior. Talk about bad luck. Heh.

Go ahead. Please, tear me apart.

I agree, though I suspect they’ll announce at least two more major headliners; it seems they realized their mistake from last year when they announced everyone too early and everyone jumped on those cheap tickets right away...

Whatever happens, happens, I guess. Even if they do announce one or two more big names, I’d bet my life savings they wait until right after all those student discounts expire. And then, probably right before another price hike kicks in.
I just don't trust T-Mobile US. They couldn't care less about us. 😁

Oh, you bet! You can find them in places like the Mall of America—it’s everywhere! $130 So, here’s the deal on the price—it’s $340 if you just shoot over a text from your T-Mobile US number, but it drops down to $290 if you're a student! Honestly, having that student ID really pays off, doesn't it? It looks like that little discount makes a pretty big difference! 😬 But just a heads-up—this deal only runs through March 17th, and that’s assuming they don't run out of stock before then! Who knows? It might be gone in a flash!

Look, I’m gonna be real with you—your estimates are way off base! Seriously, you're barking up the wrong tree here!

Alright, I'm dropping some full copy-pastes from just the last two pages here—specifically where... So, I want to hear from you guys—what’s actually on your minds? Don't hold back! I'm dying to know what you all are thinking about lately!:

shadowdrifter6 said:Any more updates on this? Any news at all?🤷

March 17th is creeping up on us, and honestly? I’m holding my breath! I am desperately expecting to see at least two or three massive, heavy-hitting headliners announced before then—otherwise, this whole thing is going to be the absolute last dud from this festival series. We need some real star power, don't you think?👎

Hey, sladokusac! Looking at that lineup—who actually has a shot at pulling this off? Come on, spill the secrets before everyone burns through their cash on tickets they might regret!

Elizabeth Clark57 said:Honestly, I’m sitting this one out—I just don't feel like dropping that kind of cash on Rammstein, you know? And if we're being totally real, I wouldn't even be down to pay more!
Honestly, looking at this lineup... man, it is absolutely worth it! Don't you think? $100Honestly, looking at how many people actually snapped up tickets this year... man, it’s such a bummer! It feels like a total tragedy that the lineup is so much weaker than what we saw last year. Seriously, if you ask me? This whole thing feels like a cheap, watered-down knockoff of Lollapalooza. Is it just me, or did they really miss the mark this time around?

Dana Howard93 said:What would I even do with that?

Kate James39 said:+1

Seriously, what’s the point? Even without those posts, it’s pretty obvious to everyone that people aren't thrilled with the lineup—which happens every single year! That's why you only see maybe 10,000 to 15,000 people show up out of, I don't know, a million people living in the Washington, D.C. metro area.
Posts like that
1.) don't actually contribute anything useful to the conversation
2.) aren't fun at all—in fact, they're just annoying to those of us who are genuinely excited about the festival, and honestly, I highly doubt you guys feel any better after posting them.
3.) are all exactly the same and can basically be boiled down to "I don't like this."

I get that most of the "positive" posts don't add much depth either, but in real life, your behavior would be like walking into an ice cream parlor and trying to explain to people enjoying their treats that the sweets and sundaes there are actually terrible. 😠 👎
😳😳😳

Plus, you guys keep comparing this lineup to the old ones way before this one is even finalized (they announced 7 acts, even though there are usually around 40 every year, LOL)! But if you really want to go there, this lineup is already better than the one from 2008👍—back when I wasn't trashing the thread but was instead just buying my ticket like any other sane person.

All of this just bothers me because when I read your thoughts—take threads about thirsty ears or other concerts at the Mall of America, or even previous festival discussions—those are consistently more informative, funnier, and more witty... basically, just better. Why? BECAUSE YOU AREN'T THERE!!!

Well, you aren't exactly the life of the party yourself, are you? I won't even get into whether you're informative or not, since I don't come to this forum to read the news, I come here to argue. And I’ll be back, so I really don't care if it bothers you or not.

Regarding the topic at hand—it isn't even fair how T-Mobile US is releasing names one by one. Once ticket prices skyrocket to astronomical levels, maybe they'll actually release a full lineup. If they even bother.
And how many people have actually bought tickets so far? How can anyone claim they're "early-bird" or whatever else is sold as sold out? How many were there to begin with, anyway???
Listing LCD Soundsystem as a headliner? Good grief.
Right now, the ticket for the festival is almost $133 the price of a ticket for something like the Coke Live festival where Muse is the main act. Comparing Muse to LCD Soundsystem? Seriously? The prices too?

Yeah, I'm bothering you. So what? 🤷

Joseph Jackson2 said:And you? You’re really not bringing much to the table in terms of wit or humor, are you? Look, I’m not even going to get into the whole "being informative" thing—honestly, that's not why I hang out on these forums anyway! I don't come here to read a textbook or a news report; I come here to stir the pot and have a real debate! So, just so we're clear, I'll be back—and frankly, I couldn't care less if my presence gets under your skin.

Regarding the topic at hand—honestly, isn't it just a bit shady how T-Mobile US is dropping these names one by one? I mean, seriously? It feels like they're just teasing us! Personally, I think they should wait until ticket prices hit those astronomical, "out of this world" levels before they even consider releasing a single name. Or maybe even then, they might still keep us hanging! Who knows, right?
So, how many people have actually snagged tickets so far? I mean, where are we getting this idea that they're "early-bird" or whatever else they're calling them—already sold out? Just how many were even available to begin with???
LCD Soundsystem as the headliner? Are you kidding me?! I mean, seriously, what are we even doing here?
Can you believe how close we are to the festival? It’s almost here! I am seriously buzzing—is anyone else feeling this level of hype, or is it just me? Time is flying by so fast! $133 Wait, hold on—so the ticket prices are basically the same as what they’re charging for Coachella? Are you kidding me?! And get this: Muse is actually headlining! Can you even imagine? Muse AND LCD Soundsystem on the same bill? That is absolutely wild! I mean, how do you even begin to compare those two? On one hand, you've got the sheer, massive stadium energy of Muse—those crazy synth layers and Matt Bellamy just going absolutely ballistic on the keys—and then you have the dance-punk, rhythmic perfection of LCD Soundsystem. It’s like comparing a supernova to a perfectly tuned engine, right? One is pure spectacle, and the other is just cool, sophisticated vibes that make you want to move. As for the prices... if they really are pulling numbers similar to the Coachella lineup, it’s definitely going to sting the wallet a bit, but man, is it worth it for a lineup like that? I’m already wondering if I can swing it! What do you guys think—is it a steal or a total rip-off at those rates?

I mean, am I bothering you? Is that what's happening here? Because if I am—well, I definitely am! What's up with that? 🤷

Look, it’s not just about whether you're getting on my nerves—it’s that I honestly can't wrap my head around what you were even trying to get at there! What was the point? For me, though... I'm all about Muse. 🤮 Honestly, they’re just a cheap imitation of Radiohead—and don't even get me started on LCD Soundsystem, who basically kicked off one of the most fascinating "genres" of the early 2000s through their label. I mean, sure, I get that way more people recognize Muse, but would those extra fans actually show up to see them live? I don't think so! We already saw what kind of crowd they pulled when they toured last time, right? 🤣
And honestly, even if they actually show up—it wouldn't really faze me one bit! I mean, you two would probably be over the moon, right? And then, of course, a whole swarm of other party animals just like you would come flooding in, acting all high and mighty like, "Oh, but they were already here!"—you know how it goes!
What’s the point of all this, really? I mean, seriously—what are we even doing here?

Oh, man, I get it! I mean, wouldn't it be absolutely wild if we had something like Coachella right here? Just imagine—you wake up, check the lineup, and suddenly there are ten incredible bands announced, and you actually recognize seven of them! That would be the dream, right? But honestly, even though we don't have that exact kind of setup, it doesn't change my mind one bit about our local festival scene being awesome. I still think what we have is such a fantastic thing, and I find myself looking forward to it almost every single year!

I have to correct you there. Sorry, but you're missing the point.
We’re essentially people walking into a kitchen filled with yeast, eggs, chocolate, and cones, without any guarantee of what the final product will actually be.
We’re all hoping for a solid scoop of vanilla, but you’ve fixated entirely on the chocolate cone just because you saw the chocolate and decided to ignore everything else.
This is a group discussion; do you honestly think people need constant validation before deciding whether to show up or not?
If you're already certain you're going, feel free to move on from this thread. What's the point of staying here?

I guess maybe I'm just missing the point, but for me, it's always been Muse. 🤮 It’s basically just a cheap Radiohead knockoff, honestly. And don't even get me started on LCD Soundsystem—that band basically jumpstarted one of the most interesting genres of the early 2000s through their label. I mean, I guess more people might actually recognize the name Muse, but how many more would have actually shown up to a show? We already saw what happened when they played last time. 🤣
Look, if they actually show up, I guess I wouldn't really care that much either way; I suppose you two would probably be all excited about it, but then you'd just end up attracting a massive crowd of other idiots who'd follow suit just because they heard they were already here.
What's the point of even doing this?

So, here we go. Let’s just say, in some kind of best-case scenario, they actually drop two more headliners like someone already suggested. But I can't help but wonder—why on earth don't we know who those two are yet? I mean, if I'm going to decide whether or not to shell out that much cash for a ticket, I'd probably like to know what I'm actually paying for, I guess. It's not like I want to just empty my pockets blindly without having a little something to think about first.
I bet T isn't going to announce it for, I don't know, maybe a few weeks from now, that XYZ is joining the lineup for Coachella. Just when ticket prices are getting even more ridiculous, of course.

I mean, honestly, I just don't see the point in dropping that much cash. At least, not for me, anyway—and if my gut is right, I think there’s still quite a few of us feeling the exact same way.

And now we’re all feeling a little blue because of Drake. Is it just us?
I mean, Muse is a band that’s already sold out Wembley twice if I'm remembering that right.
Just look at this tour schedule—they’ve already sold out Wembley again, so they're adding a second night. They did the exact same thing with Stade de France, too; another show added because it's packed. I mean, just try to wrap your head around how many people that actually is. According to Wikipedia, Wembley holds about 75,000 seated spots plus another 15,000 standing, and then you've got 80,000 over in Paris. Honestly, I don't even have a comeback for that.
